“BYE GLEN!” Spencer said as she shoved Glen the rest of the way out of the door. Kyla returned her attention to Ashley who was busy studying the wood panels on Spencer’s floor. Gathering up her courage she looked at the blonde, right into those electric blue eyes that haunted her so much every night when she closed her own eyes.

“I’m not leaving Spencer.”

“Yes you are Ashley. There’s no reason for you to be here anymore.”

“Spencer I didn’t say we were nothing,” Ashley began reaching out for Spencer’s hand but the blonde withdrew it quickly. “I said it was complicated.”

“You said we were nothing,” Pausing to enunciate each word and looking at Ashley to see if the message sunk in. She was surprised when the brunette leapt forward, mashing their lips together hard. Spencer felt herself being sucked into the kiss and before she knew it Ashley had released her. Kyla stood in the corner, for once in her life, completely silent.

“That is not nothing,” Ashley said confidently smiling up at Spencer. Something in Spencer’s heart told her to give in but the tears burning the back of her eyes told her to stand her ground. If Ashley had given up so easily before she would do it again, and that would hurt even more. Coldly Spencer turned away.

“It is nothing. It’s too complicated remember?” Spencer asked bitterly. Kyla dropped her head to the floor when she saw the look of anger and hurt on Ashley’s face. Her sister didn’t usually take chances and Kyla knew enough to know when she’d been hurt badly.

“Fine then I’m leaving. And I am never coming back. Kyla, let’s go,” Ashley said holding out her hand for her younger sister. Kyla liked Spencer she really did but her allegiance was to Ashley and she could see how hurt her sister truly was. She scowled at Spencer and latched onto Ashley’s hand.

“Wait, Ashley,” Spencer began but the brunette stared daggers at her as she activated the belt that was around her waist. Kyla’s belt glowed green along with Ashley’s and the room began to quiver with energy.

“No. You made your decision,” Ashley spat out bitterly swiping Spencer’s hand away from her face. Kyla grasped Ashley’s back, cutting out any space in between them and looked at Spencer desperately tossing her a belt. She mouthed something at the writer and then with a flash the two sisters were gone. Spencer held the belt in her hands and ran her fingers over the material. One tear fell from her eye and then she collapsed onto the floor leaning against the couch. Sobs wracked her body and she tried to regain some composure. But when she closed her eyes all she could see was Ashley and the huge mistake she had just made. The blonde cried herself to sleep for the next three nights and didn’t move from the spot where she’d last seen the brunette hoping somehow, that she would magically reappear. But she didn’t.
