Ashley and Kyla rematerialized in the time machine after their journey. This time Kyla was more used to the pain of the trip and she helped her sister stand up straight, brushing a stray curl away from her eyes. Ashley’s nose was bleeding and her eyes were completely bloodshot. Kyla waited for a moment before beginning the inquisiton.

“I don’t wanna talk about it Ky,” Ashley said recognizing the look in her little sister’s eyes.

“Ash, what the hell happened? You’re going to tell me and you’re going to tell me now.”

“I told her we weren’t together and she got mad, end of story end of non relationship!” Ashley said a tear escaping from the corner of her eye. She swiped it away angrily. “It was just too complicated!”

“How? Sure you’re from two completely different time periods…but still. Love is love. What you’ve found in each other is rare and you can’t let it go Ash. Complicated or not,” Kyla said placing a comforting hand on her sister’s shoulder. Ashley began to say something but Kyla saw movement outside of the time machine. “On second thought, don’t answer that.”

“Why?” Ashley asked but she soon found her answer.

“Hello Dr. Davies, how nice to see you again,” Ashley recognized the slick oily voice immediately. Heston. Representative Heston was in her lab. Her eyes refocused to the dark and she could see that Rick stood there with him. Along with several armed forcemen.

“How the fuck did you get in here! I had the security system armed to a-” She paused when she saw Heston holding up a plug and then mentally cursed herself when she saw the laser cut hole through the door that they had sealed. “Damn.”

“I told you there was a design flaw!” Kyla yelled throwing her hands over her head in agitation.

“You’re going to need to come with me Professor,” Heston said as he grinned menacingly. In the dim light, his crooked face was almost demon like and Kyla gasped when the two forcemen reached out and seized Ashley roughly.

“Come on Kyla dear, you don’t need to see this,” Rick said trying to place a guiding hand on her back. She brushed him off and followed behind Ashley.

“Where is she going?” She asked Rick angrily.

“I alerted the Representative of your sister’s forbidden and disgusting activities. Now she’s going to be dealt with accordingly,” Rick answered wrapping his arms around Kyla’s waist tightly keeping her in one place while the officers placed a pair of sterimint handcuffs on Ashley who was trying to fight against them.

“Get your hands off of me! No! NOOOOOOOO!” Kyla cringed when she heard Ashley wail and then broke into tears when the men dragged her sister away kicked and screaming. She struggled against Rick, sobbing uncontrollably and he held her in place tightly.

“How could you?!” She screamed at the sad excuse for a man, slapping him hard right across the jaw. Meanwhile, Heston was supervising Ashley’s transfer to her cell. He laughed as the small brunette struggled against the muscle of the forcemen and then grinned maniacally as they beat her over and over until she passed out.

“Oh yes Miss Davies, you won’t live to see morning.”
