“Man down.” Ashley groaned as she stared up at the ceiling. In Spencer’s shock, she reacted to the news by sitting up and sent her girlfriend crashing to the floor, not that the other girl was angry though, just slightly bruised.

Spencer stared down at Ashley in horror/amusement while Dano laughed at the spectacle. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry!”she reached out and grabbed the fallen girl’s hand to pull her up.

“It’s okay, I’m fine.” With a little effort and a hurt ego, she stood and turned to glare at the tanned girl who was sliding off the chair laughing. “Shut up Dano.”

Wiping a few stray tears from her eyes, the roaring laughter subsided to a hearty chuckle. “Sorry, Sorry. That was too funny still.”

Spencer sat back down on the couch with Ashley who decided to lay her head down in her lap. “So wait, Madison has a twin sister? What’s her name and how come I’ve never seen her before?” she asked as her fingers absentmindedly carded through the brown locks.

“After the fight where I got this,” Dano explained as she tilted her chin up and pointed to a long scar that lined the underside of her jaw, “and Firefly got a battle scar too,” wordlessly, Ashley lifted the hem of her shirt slightly and pointed to a faint scar on the left side of her back, “Victoria moved to San Antonio to live with her dad.”

Spencer gently traced the healed gash with her fingertips, causing goosebumps to appear. ‘How did I miss it before?’ She had heard stories of heartbroken lovers doing near and in some cases, fully violent things out of pain and passion but for it to have happened to people who she knew, to the person she loved, it seemed so much more real. “Wow. I knew Madison could be harsh but this is crazy. Did she have knives for nails or what?”

Dano sighed after polishing off her beer and set it down on the table in front of her, “No, but she did have a knife.”

“Are you kidding?”

“Nope.” Ashley answered “She was pissed and crazy and hurt and in love so one night when we were all over at her place, she pulled a pocketknife on Victoria. Dano got in front of her while she was taking a wild swing and got cut so Vanessa freaked out and started charging at Madison. I jumped in between them to stop her but I was a little off and Madison got me in the back.”
