You Found Me – (Chapter: 1. Hour One)
The blonde was out the door before Ashley could even blink or muster up a response, she sat surrounded by her own silence for a few moments. Letting the words sink in that were just spoken to her. Never in her life had some one been so real to her, she didn’t know how to react, she didn’t know how to respond, she didn’t even know what she was still doing in the room, the only thing she knew was that she wasn’t going to let Spencer get out of today’s counseling session. She could have said to hell with her but something made Ashley want to stick with it.
The brunette stood up, her chair knocking into the wall and left the room, leaving her book bag on the table. As she got out into the courtyard, she quickly scanned all of the green picnic tables for the blonde. Her eyes landed briefly on a table containing all of her friends, she momentarily thought about walking over and forgetting the whole thing but her eyes fell on the blonde she was looking for. Her head in the book, sitting alone at a table not far away from her own lunch table. Her head went back and forth between both tables, silently weighing the pros and cons, debating her options, before sighing and walking over to the table that contained a single blonde girl waiting for someone to care.
“Spencer come back to the room” the brunette spoke up as she hovered over the table, causing a shade for the blonde
“No” she replied not looking up from her book
Ashley snatched the book out from under her hands and closed it, taking the bench next to her.
“Fine, we’ll continue the session out here. I don’t care”
Spencer finally looked up, surprised by the brunettes authoritative tone.
“You’re right” the brunette spoke up softer now “I was judging you”
The blonde rolled her eyes
“Because I know that this” she gestures towards Spencer’s black baggy clothes and blue streaked hair “isn’t who you really are either”
Spencer looks down and shakes her head.
“You want to know what I really think?” the brunette asked
“No” Spencer replied
“I think that you are just as bad as me, putting up a front so that no one sees who you really are”
“I guess we’re both frauds” the blonde replies with a small smile, causing the brunette to smile as well
“Why don’t we both cool off for today, tomorrow we’ll continue”
“You still want to do this?” the blonde asked surprised
Ashley kept the small smile on her face, “Yeah, Miss James put us together for a reason so we can at least entertain the idea”
Spencer cleared her throat, “Okay”
Ashley stood up, sliding the book back over to her, “And try not to be such a bitch tomorrow, yeah?”
“I’m not promising anything” the blonde replied already back into her book
Ashley laughed a bit as she walked away, towards the conference room where her books still were. She decided to head to the library for the remainder of the lunch period, she wasn’t quite ready to hang out with her friends yet.
