You Only Live Once – Why Not Enjoy It – (Chapter: 26 – Let the Turmoil Begin)

“Shhhh…Keep it down, they’ll hear you Spence.”  Ashley replied with a broad smile matching Madison’s.

“Just remember that the ones with the green dots are good.”  Kyla entered the room, placing a small tray in front of the group of girls.  “Make sure you grab those.”  Everyone nodded.

“We better hurry, they’ll suspect something.”  Ashley rubbed her hands together, placing the candy apples on another tray.  “Mads, can you grab the drinks. Kyla, the popcorn and Spence please try not to give giggle as we walk into the living room.  You’ll give it away.”  Spencer rolled her eyes.

“Alright…Show time.”  The girls casually left the kitchen and back into the living room joining Aiden and Kasey on the couch.

“Help yourselves.”  Kyla placed the popcorn down onto the coffee table next to the other goods.  Each girl took a seat in their respective areas, eyeing the candy apple tray from their positions.

“Hey Kase, wanna toss me a Pepsi please?”  Aiden asked.  Kasey complied as a can of soda flew in his direction.

The girls looked on, anxiously praying for a little retribution.  Kyla was the first to take her candy apple, subtly making sure that the stick held the tiny green dot that she spoke of earlier.  Soon, one by one the girls eagerly munched on their candy occasionally letting their gaze drift to the exhausted cousins.

“Do we have to watch this?  Can’t we watch Corky Romano or Scarface?”  Aiden whined, crushing his now empty can of Pepsi.  The group had decided to watch Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

“Sorry Aid, the movie’s almost over.  In the meantime, just stuff your face and let us enjoy.”  Ashley piped up, causing Spencer to glance his way and stick her tongue out at the boy.

Aiden grumbled a few incoherent words before crossing his arms over his chest in defeat.

As expected the movie ended and yet the two candy apples remained on the tray; untouched.  Ashley sighed in discontent.  “Get the next movie ready.  I’m gonna go get more popcorn.”  She stood and warily made her way to the kitchen.

It wasn’t long before Madison, Spencer, and Kyla joined her.  It was obvious that their plan had been foiled so far.  The cousins were unresponsive to the sugary treat resting in front of them.  “This is a first.”  Madison threw her hands up in defeat.  “He eats anything you put in front of him, why not tonight!?”
