They laugh and head back up the lift. Both Bette and Tina take a turn on a solo tube and love it. The solo tubes go much faster and you constantly spin on the ride down. They do this for about an hour then decide to take a break for lunch in the lodge. Bette goes to the car to get the diaper bag. Tina stops back at the pro shop to return the helmet.

Angelica: Whee fun!

Tina: Oh my god she loved it. We may be back tonight, but we’ll definitely be back in the morning. Right now we need lunch and a nap.

Sales Rep: You ladies are great parents, you know when you kid needs a break. No wonder you have such a sweet girl.

Tina: After today we might have an X-Games baby.

Sales Rep: Well maybe next year you can get her in our pee wee ski lessons. Check online for info in the fall. Try the chowder in the lodge.

Tina: Is it better then The Diner’s?

Sales Rep: Probably not that good, but still really good.

Bette: Thanks, as you know we loved it so we’ll keep the pass.

Sales Rep: I knew you’d enjoy it. Well see you later, have a good lunch.

They recount the fun they had on the tubes. Angelica has really worked up and appetite. They order bowls of chowder and minestrone and Angelica eats just about the whole bowl of minestrone. They also shared fries with her as they’d each ordered a sandwich with fries. Tina had the Veggie Burger and Bette had a Turkey club. Angelica was tiring and they decided to let her sleep in the car as they toured the area. They loved the quaint feel of the town and agreed they’d definitely be back for a weekend in the summer and fall.

Tina: I still can’t get over how fearless she was. But after seeing her on the sled I should have expected that.

Bette: This is something we never would have exposed her to in California. You said that New York would offer her diversity unlike California and we see it today. Let’s do a little shopping when she wakes up. We should get some Vermont Maple syrup for home and I definitely want to take her into that toy store.
