    Nervousness and THE First “date?”

    Chapter 6

     

    Tina was running frantically around her apartment cleaning and checking on dinner which is cooking in the stove. It was closing in on 6, only 15 minutes left. And Tina was a nervous wreck. I cant believe I asked her to dinner. She thinks to herself.

     

    2 floors up:

    Bette is also a nervous wreck. Why did I say yes, Im not into women? Or? Why am I so nervous? Bette says to herself as she finds something to wear.

    Its casual, right? Yes its casual, its in her apartment, not a restaurant. Bette says to herself and laughs. Get a grip Porter. She says and put on some white slacks and a white sleeveless top. She checks herself in the mirror.

    Yes, thats casual. She says and walks into the kitchen and takes a seat while she looks at her watch. 5 minutes. She thinks.

     

    2 floors down:

    Tina is finishing the lasagna and sets the table. She pops a bottle of wine and places it on the table to let it breathe a little. She then runs into the bathroom to put on some make up. She looks at herself in the mirror. Hair, up or down? She asks herself. Up definitely. She says and put her hair up in a rough do. She looks one more time. Yes thats it. She says out loud to herself. Then she hears a knock on the door. Shes here, oh my. Tina says and turns to the door. She stops and straightens her clothes then she smiles as she opens the door. There she stands with a wine bottle in her free hand and her cane in the other.

    She looks hot. Tina thinks.

    Hi, come in. Tina says and Bette enters and gives Tina the bottle.

    Hi, here, I brought a present. Bette says and smiles.

    Thank you. Dinner is ready, so I hope you are hungry. Tina says and walks into the kitchen.

    Bette looks around the living room and smiles.

    You have a nice apartment, itshome Bette says and follows Tina into the kitchen,

    Home? Tina asks.

    Yes, you have made a home. In my apartment, you cant tell if someone lives there, Ive had the apartment for three years, but I was never there, so its nothome. Bette explains.

    23. OK OK I’m so slow at catching up but if I haven’t told you I love this story. I find it interesting that Bette is an athlete of sorts. It will be interesting to see if she pushes her recovery to try to golf again dispite what the docts have said. Thanks
