Carmen-“Lets head back to the beach. Will you take a walk with me?”

Shane-“Sounds great to me.” And begins to paddle them back to the shore.

Meanwhile up at camp the gang is all hanging out watching the sun start to set over the ocean.  Jenny is the first to start to walk over to the cliff and Max is right behind her.

Alice-“What are you two up to?”

They both turn around lock hands and smile.

In unison “watching”

Alice cant help herself. She walks over to find out exactly what they mean and the rest of the group are right on her heals.

When they catch up to Max and Jenny they see exactly what they were talking about.  Shane is standing behind Carmen with her arms wrapped around her and whispering something into her ear.

Kit-“It is about time my baby girl gets it right.”

Bette-“I couldn’t agree more.”

Alice in her normal tone “Which one are you talking about?”

Kit-“Both of them.”

Helena-“I agree they both deserve nothing more than the utter most happiness.”

Tina walks over to Bette and kisses her softly. “They both seem like they have found that.”

Dana-“Alright guys lets not be creepers here. Lets let them have their moment.”

Just as she is getting ready to walk back to the fire jenny stops her.

Jenny-“Just wait.”

Everyone looks at here confused.

Max-“What jenny means is we wouldn’t want to miss the beautiful sun set.” Nudging jenny.

Jenny-“Yeah, we should be able to enjoy it with them.”

One the Beach Carmen is in her own blissful world. She is in a beautiful location with the woman she loves with her entire heart. She was so caught up in the moment she didn’t hear Shane talking to her. She quickly snaps out of it and turns around to look at Shane.

Carmen-“I am sorry baby, I was just enjoying the moment.”

Shane just smiles at her and takes her hand.

Shane-“That’s okay baby.”

Before Carmen could ask what she was saying Shane gives her a hug. In the middle of their embrace Shane starts to calm herself and just goes for it. Without letting go of Carmen.

Shane-“Carmen, I love you with all of my heart. I mean it when I say I want to wake up next to you every day for the rest of our lives. I know I have done a lot of fucked up things. I am not that person anymore. I don’t think I every truly was but I didn’t see that until I found you. “ Shane pulls back a little bit to see how Carmen is taking all of this in. When shane lifts Carmen’s chin so their eye can meet she sees that Carmen has a steady stream of tears. Shane looks her straight in the eye and gets on one knee. “I didn’t do this the first time. I want to do everything right. Carmen I love you with everything that I am and all that I will ever be. I don’t ever want to go a moment without you. I want to grow old with you. Will you marry me?”

The tears continue to come. Carmen has her hand over her mouth as Shane pulls out a tiny gray box and opens it.

Carmen-“If I were to fall will you catch me?”

Shane-“Every time.”

Carmen puts out her left hand to allow Shane to place the engagement ring on her finger.

Once it is on the kiss deeply. Carmen pulls back stunned and Shane sees pure joy in Carmen’s eyes.

Shane-“What is it baby?”

Carmen-“Are you sure this is real, what if I am dreaming?”

Shane-“Carm there is nothing more real than this. Than what I feel for you.” Shane takes Carmens hand and places it on her heart and does the same with hers. The memory comes flooding back to both of them. “we knew it the first time we laid eye on one another”

Carmen-“I love you.”

Shane-“I love you too.”

They are interrupted by their family on top of the small cliff cheering with tears in their eyes. Everyone is stunned at what they just saw.

Shane-“What do you say, want to go get cozy by the fire?”

Carmen-“Absolutely.”

They both make their way up the path to the site.

Back at the site everyone is hugging.

Alice-“So that is what you two were up to yesterday.”

Jenny-“Yeah we went off over to find one Shane thought was the perfect one.”

Bette-“I didn’t think shane would..”

Jenny-“She was more than ready.”

Tina-“I see that. I am happy for them.”

Just then Shane and Carmen pop over the path and are greeted with everyone hugs and wanting to see Carmen’s ring. One every is over being shell shocked and calmed down they all head to take seats by the fire. Everyone is curled up enjoying the warmth. Carmen is comfy sitting between Shane’s legs with her arms around her. No other word comes to her mind other than perfection. With the warmth of her lover and family all surrounding her. She looks up at Shane who is admiring her and they share a kiss.
