CHAPTER 40
Bette got to her hotel room and slumped down on the couch. Part of her happy, Tina had agreed to try and be friends again, another part of her sad that maybe that’s all they could ever be.
Bette was sure she saw something more in Tina’s eyes, Bette was sure she saw that spark in Tina’s eyes again, Bette was willing to wait, Bette had nothing but time and Tina was worth the wait but for now being friends was enough for Bette for now.
Bette undressed washed her face, and got into bed feeling more relaxed than she had in months.
It was a typical Monday morning for Tina, it seemed that every time the phone rang it was another problem, her day had begun earlier than usual since Helena had woken her early this morning to let her know she had to fly out to New York for at least 3 days. Tina figured since she was up she would head to the office early and try and get a head start it was only 11:00 am and she already had a huge head ache she sat back in her chair and pinched the bridge of her nose trying to will her head ache away.
There was a knock on her door.
“Come in”
Tina’s assistant walked into the door holding a vase full of white roses.
“Tina, you’re sure very popular in some ones list”
Tina smiled knowing already who the flowers were from.
Lori’s Tina assistant placed the vase on top of Tina’s cabinet along with on of the other arrangements she had already received.
“Thanks Lori”
Tina reached for the card and opened it.

Tina smiled it was simple, considerate but her heart skipped a beat anyway, an effect Bette always seemed to have on Tina.
Tina picked up the phone and dialed Bette’s cell phone not even sure if Bette still had the same number.
It rang twice, before she heard her voice.
“Hello”
“Bette?”
“Tina?”
“Stop sending me flowers” Tina said in a teasing voice

ok, so how long will Tina keep this ‘we’re just friends’ charade up? they have had two dates and she is agreeing to a spending a whole day with Bette. At this rate they will be together before she closes on the house! lol pps
