    Bette laughed ”You are officially crazy. I’m not apologizing to this hunk of metal” Bette continued to pull on the handle but it wouldn’t budge. Alice leaned back against the seat and folded her arms and watched Bette continue to beat and bang on the passenger door trying to get it open. After not getting

    Bette continued to pull on the handle but it wouldn’t budge. Alice leaned back against the seat and folded her arms and watched Bette continue to beat and bang on the passenger door trying to get it open. After not getting anywhere, Bette threw herself against the seat and stayed silent for several minutes before relenting.

    ”I’m sorry” Bette said in an apologetic tone and Alice smiled.

    ”Now. Was that so bad. Ok now try the door”

    Bette cut her eyes at Alice then pushed on the handle and gasped when the door opened with no resistance. Bette then looked back at Alice before getting out.

    ”I’m not even going to ask”

    Alice chuckled and watched as Bette got out of the car, closed the door quickly, and stuck her head in the window.

    ”Well aren’t you coming. You are going to need a tow” Bette asked

    Alice shook her head while turning the key and the car started right up.

    ”Myrtle wasn’t going to go into that parking lot knowing it was a dealership. I told her I wasn’t replacing her but now that you are out of the car she isn’t worried anymore so I’ll see you at home ok”

    Bette couldn’t say anything as Alice waved at her and watched as the horror movie she felt like she was in drove off and the car sounding like it was going to blow up any minute.

    ”I need a drink and a priest. I wonder if he can perform an exorcism on a car. And maybe get Alice to a psych ward. Damn Alice and her crazy shit she always manages to pull me into” Bette mumbled to herself as she walked to the dealership.

    A few hours and a new car later, Bette was on her way to Alice’s and pulled out the card Tina had given to her and put her ear piece in dialing the number and was disappointed to get her voicemail.

    ”Hi you have reached Dr. Tina Kennard. If this is an emergency please dial 555-2678 otherwise please leave a brief message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can”

    Bette waited for the beep.

    ”Hi Tina this is Bette. I was calling to get your address. So if you could text or call me at 213-577-9865. Looking forward to working with you on the design. Talk to you soon”

    Bette ended the call, took her ear piece out, and sighed.

    ”Focus Porter. Keep it strictly business. You don’t know if she is even into women. But the way she was smiling at me” Bette said talking to herself then shook her head ”Ok stop it. I am reading way to much into it. I need to worry about finding a place for my office, calling Mr. Burlingame, and set things up for Alice”

    As soon as Bette turned on her radio her cell phone rang and without looking she grabbed her ear piece and answered it.

    ”Hello. Bette Porter here”

    ”Hey Bette. It’s Tina”

    1. Welcome back!! Glad to see your update. I love Peggy Peabody. I hope Dr Tina can work a miracle and create the Peggy Peabody Oncology Center with Peggy cutting the ribbon. Alice and the demon car is too much. She can drive Bette to distraction. Actually I think the sweet Dr Kennard will be willing to take all of Bette’s attention. PPS

    9. Love this update and Alice isn’t that crazy, all my cars had names too. The car I have right now is called: the Pope. So I can relate………only my car doesn’t push it that far……….I like the humor and I can’t wait for your next update. Great job.
