    A Secret Love Found Out

Tina and I left our usual rendezvous spot and I joined a couple of my colleagues at the nurse’s station. A few seconds later Tina sat at her computer, opposite from me and we share a secret loving look.

“Careful Porter, lest your eyes betray your secret,” I heard in a whisper.

I turned to see a smug smile plastered on the face of Aimee, one of the nurses. Proud of herself, she walked away and I panicked. I sent Tina a text, we need to talk, Aimee knows…Dana’s office, ten minutes. I see a scared look in her eyes as she reads it. I excuse myself and jog up the stairs and walk to the office. I sit and immediately enter panic mode, if she outs us this won’t be good for either of us. As I sit there and rack my brain, I hear a light knock.

“Come in,” I say and Tina walks in and closes the door behind her.

“How is this possible? We are so careful.”

“I don’t know Tee, I don’t know. It’s possible she saw us go into our hiding place. But there’s no windows or anything.”

“This can’t be happening,” Tina said, pacing, “what are we gonna do?”

“Don’t worry, we’ll think of something.”

    “Talk to her.”

    “What?”

“Go talk to her. See what she wants to shut up.”

“What am I supposed to say? ‘Hey so you saw Tina and I making out, what do you want?’ Like that?”

    “Be more subtle Bette.”

“Ok ok, I’ll talk to her.”

After Tina left, I calmed myself a bit; I sent Aimee an email asking her to come by the PT office when she could. Hopefully I’d think of what to say before she came. As the day went by, I couldn’t concentrate. I couldn’t believe this situation was getting this out of control. There was a knock at the door and I called out to the visitor.

“You wanted to see me,” I heard in a sarcastic tone.

“Yes, please sit,” I said and gestured at the seat close to me.

“What is this about,” she smirked.

“This is about the snide remark you made earlier.”

“The snide remark you say I made was about what I saw.”
