“This is really good” she says taking a bite of her food. “So what are the plans for this week?”
“I think I want to hear more about this friend of yours. I’m intrigued.” Tina evades the question.
“Tell me first, what’s going on. Is Bette keeping Angie all week?”
“Not all week. Bette has her this afternoon but she’s coming home with me tonight. I’m meeting them at Bette’s house for dinner. I’ll have her on Tuesday and then Bette is taking her to Monterey to visit some friends on Wednesday. They will be gone through the weekend. I’m thinking of flying up on Saturday to help Bette drive back on Sunday.”
“So I won’t see you this weekend then?” Kate asked already suspecting that this was one of the times when Bette and Angie would take priority.
“We can go out Friday night if you want. I can leave early Saturday morning.” Tina responded without enthusiasm.
“Wouldn’t you rather go up Friday after work, so you have more time to visit with your friends?”
“That would be better but I thought you and I had plans.”
“Only tentative. We hadn’t really decided anything yet. Maybe this weekend isn’t a good time.”
“I did say that I wanted to see you Kate.” A bit of irritation had entered into her tone so she softened it. “Have you already made plans with someone else?”
“Why would you think that I’m seeing someone else?”
“I just thought since I couldn’t commit to anything until I spoke to Bette that you might already have made plans. It’s OK if you have Kate.”
“No I don’t have other plans. I was waiting to hear yours. I only want to be with you. Tina I haven’t been with anyone else since we started dating. Have you been seeing other people?”
“No I haven’t been with anyone else either.”
“That’s good to know. Do you mind if I ask you something?”
“What is it?”
“It’s about us. We’ve been together for six months. Neither one of us is seeing other people even though we’re both free to do so. I know my own heart, but I was just wondering if you see us ever moving to the next level maybe committing to an exclusive relationship?”

Sorry KATE but TINA’s heart will always belong to BETTE.They have removed two obstacles from their path to happiness hoping they don’t get off track without fully talking about the lack of trust that is between forever and heartbreak for them both.pps

You really have me hooked on this story now BAT :) You even had me liking Kate ! Almost stopped imagining her in that dam hat!

My Kate is definitely not the gum chewing, hat wearing, egoist like the one on the show. She’s a classy act in this story which is why she lasted so long with Tina. As for Bette and Tina they will find their way back sooner rather than later. Stay tuned. Thanks for reading and commenting. Next chapter will be posted later today.
I feel a little sorry for Kate, she seems a nice lady in this story and the way she encouraged Tina to follow her heart shows that.
But we all know that Bette&Tina are soulmates, they both know that they have to work at the trust issue between them.

Bat…. I’m reading this for the first time here in 2020. This chapter should be submitted to GenQ. Substitute Carrie for Kate and you have the episode of that will please everyone. Funny how history repeats itself…
Wonderful story so far…..A little different story line in which Tina leaves the relationship and not as a result of Bette’s cheating. But in the original story, if Bette had not cheated, I think this is the way it would have gone. But they would not have stayed separated for 5 years…. Of course they still have Angie to co-parent and to keep them in constant contact with each other.
Great Chapter…. Love Kate’s message to Tina. It was a hard one to deliver for her I’m sure. The heart always hopes that things will go their way even though the brain knows differently. Kate responded with her brain and the evidence which was clear to her. She would never be able to replace Bette in Tina’s life. Tina’s heart belongs to Bette and to Angie and it always will.
