I laughed. "You’re full of inquiries today, aren’t you?"
"Well, do you have an answer to my last question, Ms. Porter?" Helena asked, amused.
"When would you like to luncheon, Ms. Peabody?"
"How’s now, Ms. Porter? I’m about to pull into your parking lot. I was able to extricate myself from the studio for a bit, and thought I’d take my chances on your availability," Helena explained.
"Wasn’t that a bit presumptuous?" I asked teasingly.
"Now who’s full questions?" Helena said, laughing. "I prefer to consider it confident, or even intuitive, rather than presumptuous."
"Well, you have confidently intuited correctly. I do believe I’m able to make myself available for an impromptu lunch with you," I affirmed, smiling. "Why don’t I meet you downstairs in about five minutes?"
"That’s perfect. I’ll be waiting for you on the steps outside," she said. "I’m just now maneuvering into a parking space."
"Alright, I’ll be right down," I assured her, clicking off the phone, setting the ringer to vibrate mode, and tucking it into my purse.
After informing my assistant that I was stepping out for a bite to eat, I hurried down to meet Helena. I was enjoying the feeling of happiness and anticipation that flowed through me and made me feel so light. As I strode through the lobby, I found myself smiling and nodding greetings to the students passing on their way to classes.
Making my way out into the bright sunlit day, I espied Helena at the bottom of the steps. My heart leapt when she looked up and flashed a smile my way.
As I neared her, she held out her hand to take mine. I clasped Helena’s palm, and she leaned over to kiss me on the cheek as we walked through the parking lot.
"I’m not infringing on your sense of workplace decorum by pecking you on the cheek and holding your hand, am I?" Helena asked teasingly.
"I believe I’d classify our deportment as acceptable," I replied quietly, turning my head to look in her eyes. "Although, when we get in your car I may have to take your lips with mine in a passionate embrace. You do have tinted windows, don’t you?"
"Indeed, I do. Pitch-black limo tint, in fact," Helena confirmed, stepping up her pace. "They’ll easily provide the proper concealment for any behavior you’d like to engage in." She squeezed my hand.

Alice owes no explanation to Tina since Tina has already moved on with Henry. If Alice is smart, she will allow all three of her friends the privacy and respect they each deserve by not divulging anything to anyone. Okay, confronting Helena and Bette about their liaison is one thing, since they both know she is in the know. Tina, however, doesn’t need to concern herself with the actions of her ex-wife where romance is concerned.
Awesome chapter zheese! Thank you for writing this even despite the troubles of you’re personal life, i hope everything works out for you. Loving the interaction between Bette and Helena. And tina… none of her goddam businnes and she should leave poor alice out of it. Brilliant writing.
Hey zheese…sorry for the delays in responding to all your great chapters and your pm. I’m so curious now to see where you will take this with Tina – she gets all high and mighty when she witnesses this herself, but what about her actions??? This could get down and dirty! Keep up your great work – I am definately enjoying this one:)
Great update, nice lunch. Why do you just know that if IC doesn’t get our girls back together early on in S4, that this is exactly whats going to happen. the B&H thing would be hot, but you know whomever Bette starts seeing that Tina is only going to see green. Cos I do believe the woman not only wants the frosting, but the cake too. I know I didn’t say that right, that was the intent.
Aw, Tina really has no right to drag Alice into this… or any rights at all, really. Not to mention B&H were just starting to have fun. Well, can’t to see what transpires!

Thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to write for us zheese. I am enjoying how the story is unfolding. You paint the picture of lust with a great skill…but it seems there is emotion winding its way into the story as well. I’ll look forward to seeing how that plays out.

it so isn’t any of Tina’s business who Bette is seeing, and to go bombing into people’s houses in a huff about it and especially not to give Bette grief about it. I can see that coming!! She doesn’t want Bette, but doesn’t want anyone else to have her. three words for Tina: TOO DAMN BAD!!! I hope Bette and Helena flaunt this in Tina’s face. I love this story..GO BELENA!
