    Chapter 1:

    At The Planet

“Well I don’t see how it would damage her reputation,” Dana argues.

“How could it not?” Alice counters, “Okay, think of it like this: if Shane was famous, the press would be all over her personal life. Now just picture it, every girl that sees her knows she’s a player that’s with someone else every night. Do you really think it would be just as easy to convince someone to go home with her?”

“But then there would be the girls that would throw themselves at her because of the fact alone that she’s famous,” Bette adds.

“Why do we have to use me as an example?” Shane questions confused. “Dana’s the one who is famous. Why don’t we use her? Fuck, we could even use Helena, everyone knows her.”

“Yeah, well – a lot of girls know you too, Shane. If you know what I mean,” Alice laughs.

“I think it would be hard to be in the spotlight all the time,” Tina carries on. “Having everyone know everything about you, having people making up rumors just because they want to sell magazines.”

“Do you have to deal with stuff like that?” Jenny asks Dana.

Dana shrugs. “I – I don’t know. I mean, sometimes. I used to worry someone would find out I was gay, but that’s not really an issue anymore,” she laughs.

“And it did help her sex life,” Tina adds. “I mean, look at Tonya.”

“I don’t know if you can call that helping,” Alice snickers and sips her drink. Dana stares her down.

“Alright guys, I gotta head out,” Shane says standing.

“You got an appointment?” Tina asks.

    “Yeah, I’ll see ya.”

“So, Jenny, how is it living with the rockstar?” Alice asks when Shane is gone.

“It’s actually really good. Shane’s awesome,” she answers. “The only thing is, we need a third roommate. There’s no way either of us can afford splitting the rent fifty-fifty.”

“Have you started looking?” Bette questions.

“No, not yet, we were going to put an add in the paper tomorrow. But if you guys know anyone…”

“We could all ask around,” Tina suggests.
