“I’m happy to see that you’re so happy Tina. She obviously loves you very much and will do anything for you. When she called me she said that she knew that I was more than just an ex-lover to you. She also thanked me for helping you to see what was right in front of you all along. I guess she thinks that if it weren’t for me that you two wouldn’t be back together. Anyway she told me about her gift of random acts of love and kindness which for the record I think is the sweetest and most precious gift anyone could ever give another person.

She asked if I would help her to fulfill one of the acts by agreeing to see you while you were in town. So here we are. I’m really glad I agreed. I didn’t realize how much I really do miss your friendship Tina. You are one of the few people I know that understands this business, but since you are no longer intimately involved you can be more objective. I liked our discussions and how you helped me see things from different perspectives. That really helped me as a Director.”

“Thank you Kate. I think you are the second most amazing woman that I have been blessed to have in my life.”

“I will accept second best only because the first one is the love of your life.” Kate wasn’t egotistic but she did have a lot of self-confidence.

“That she is. Will you promise to stay in touch? Call me every now and then or email or even visit if you’re in L.A.?”

“I will. I think we can handle being friends again. We haven’t lost that.”

Bette returns after a while and pretty soon Kate is pulled away as the movie is about to start. They say goodbye and promise to keep in touch. Bette and Tina thoroughly enjoy the movie and they can tell by the audience response that it will be a huge success. They don’t see Kate after the movie as she has already left for the evening. Bette and Tina get a cab back to Peggy’s apartment.

Bette and Tina have showered and they are lying in bed together. This was their last night in New York. Tomorrow morning they would take the Peabody jet back to LA.

“Babe this has been the most incredible few days of my life. I don’t even know where to begin to thank you. How do I express how much I love you and how loved and treasured I feel right now?”

“You don’t have to thank me baby. Just be happy that’s all the thanks I need.”

“Babe I couldn’t be happier. I love you so much.”

“I love you baby. Goodnight sweetie.”

They kiss goodnight and they hold each other face to face as they both fall into a peaceful sleep.
