” Alice right? I’m not bothering you am I? You looked pretty busy.” The Spanish woman asked.

” Yeah I’m Alice. Oh no! Just doing some research for my little article I’m writing for the Rolling Stone.” Alice let out a little nervous laugh.

“Ahh, that sounds like a great job!” Maia was holding a large mug and glanced over at the chair across from Alice and then back at her.

“Fuck I’m sorry, would like to sit down?” Alice pushed her papers and laptop to the side.

“Thanks.” Maia shrugged off her black pea coat revealing a deep red strappy tunic top that was cut diagonal at the bottom with jeans underneath. Her hair that was almost knotted up for her performance was now smoother and down. Black waves toppling over her bare shoulders. “So, can’t sleep?” Her thick accent almost seemed to drip from her lipsor at least that’s how Alice thought of it.

Alice cleared her throat, her eyes gazing over the shimmering color of Maia’s bronzed shoulders. “No I’ve got a lot on my mind. What about you? I would think after dancing around with a snake woulduh you know, make you tired.”

Maia let her head fall back slightly as she chuckled. “No, I’m what they call a night owl.” Maia smiled and one side of her mouth came up slightly.

Alice couldn’t take her eyes off of Maia and it seemed mutual as they both sat across from one another, trying to think of something to say. “So who are we writing about tonight?” Maia broke the silence.

“Uh, the Gossip, they’re this cool little punk soul type of group. I have a really good friend that sort of sounds like them.” Alice fumbled with her cup nervously.

“May I listen?” Maia stood up and bent across the table, a single shark’s tooth necklace lay in the heart of Maia’s cleavage.

“Sure.” Alice handed Maia the headphones and watched as she bobbed her head. ” Oh boy.” Alice whispered to herself.
