    In the morning at the hospital

    Alice went to visit John, she was relieved when the nurse told her that John had woke up from the coma. She was afraid of meeting Bette but sooner or later she would have to face her.
    She knocked the door and entered in the room. Bette was rocking John back and forth while he was sleeping on her lap. She was greeted by Tina for whom she gave the teddy bear she brought for John. Bette just ignored her

    Alice: I’m so relieved that he is fine, finally I can breathe normally again, Is there something I can do for you?

    Bette: (annoyed but with a low voice) Why we would ask you anything if you can’t even take care of a child?

    Tina: (trying to avoid a discussion) We are fine Alice. He’s just in observation now. Maybe tomorrow we can go home

    Bette: But you can go now. You know, they only allow family to stay

    Tina: (angrily) Bette! Stop

    The meaning of the comment wasn’t lost to Alice. Bette was excluding her of her family as punishment. Even knowing Bette was being cruel, she knew she deserved it. She was feeling guilt

    Alice: TK, I need to go now. Call me if you need anything.. anytime

    Tina: ok Thanks Al (turning back to face Bette ) Bette, why did you treat Alice like that? She’s our best friend

    Bette: Because she deserves it. John doesn’t needed this kind of trauma

    Tina: It was an accident, when are you going to accept that?

    Bette: accident is exchange salt for sugar on the coffee

    Tina: I said stop it. It was an accident, she was trying to help us, the way she always do, she was worried about you been alone and offered help, then please stop been an *****

    Bette: (feeling embarrassed) i’m sorry

    Tina: I’m not the one you have to say sorry for

    A few days later

    Bette was reading the newspaper when Alice showed up

    Alice: hi Bette, I was in the neighborhood and thought about pass by to know how John is doing

    Bette: you could’ve had called

    Alice: Bette, I know you’re upset and you have all the rights and your hormones too, but you’re been a little bit cruel, I don’t deserve this, I love you and love your family I could’ve died to not let anything bad happen to him but I couldn’t and I will have to live with that guilt (starting to cry harder)

    Bette was still having a hard talk with Alice when John entered running into the living room and stopped

    john: are you mad with aunt Alice mamma?

    Bette: no baby, I’m not, go back to your bedroom

    John: (hugging Alice) don’t cry aunt Alice do you want my new teddy?

    Alice: no baby, I bought it for you, I’m ok

    Bette: baby, this is between your aunt Alice and I, but I’m not mad anymore I forgave her already

    John: mamma you have to hug aunt Alice the way you hug me when you forgive me when I do something wrong

    Bette just rolled her eyes and hugged a sad Alice

    Bette: I’m sorry let try to forget about what happened

    John: mamma lets go to the park

    Bette: baby im not feeling like going out, do you want to see a dvd ?
