    All I Want Is Everything – #16

Gabby: For what it’s worth, Dana… I was joking.  But please do something before Al bites everybody’s goddamn head off.

Gabby leaves for the register to pay for her drink.

Shane: I could be doing other things right now.  Instead I gotta sit here and deal with people wanting to so fucking snippy with each other.

Alice: Sorry, Shane it’s still kinda hard learning to be friends with Gabby.

    Jenny: It’s not impossible, Alice.

Dana looks at Gabby and sees her exiting the Planet.  She leaves her table and heads for outside with Alice, Shane, and Jenny only looking on.

Dana catches up to Gabby who walks at a brisk pace toward her parked car.

    Dana: Gabby!

Gabby turns around, seeing Dana running up to her on the sidewalk.

Gabby: Look, I didn’t mean to be an ass in there.  I mean I know it’s easy for me, but-

Dana: Hey, it’s okay.  Are you okay?

There is a look of hopelessness in Gabby’s eyes.

Gabby: She still hates me.  Even after that group talk with Kit and hanging out at SheBar.  She still hates me.

Dana: Nobody hates you, Gab.  It’s just a little weird right now.  All this shit has happened and it’s not like it used to be.

Gabby: Yeah.  That’s the problem.  It’ll never be the same will it?

Dana: Maybe?  But, even though I’ve given you hell as well… it isn’t the same without ya.

    Gabby looks down.

    Dana: Hey.  Gabby?

She looks back up at Dana.

Dana: You’re still my friend.  A screwed up, heavily flawed friend.  But still a friend.

    Gabby: Thanks.  I guess.

Dana: …You were joking about asking Lara out?

Gabby: Dana, don’t worry about whether I’m joking or serious about asking someone out.  There’s this beautiful woman you want to ask out and she likes you.  If only all of us could be so lucky.

She crosses her arms and looks out at the traffic passing by on the street.  Dana can still sense the hurt.

    Dana: Gabby, come here.

Dana reaches out, pulling Gabby in for a hug.  Gabby receives the hug well.

    Gabby: Don’t squander it.

Dana: I’ll ask her out.  I promise.

Gabby: You’d be a fool not to.

As Dana and Gabby make peace, the afternoon begins to fade.  Bette is still away at the C.A.C. while Tina is at home.  Tasha continues to monitor from inside the house much to Tina’s discomfort until she suddenly rises from her seat in the kitchen, going for the kitchen door at the back of the house.
