The surgeon swallowed hard at the sight, trying desperately to rid herself of the large ball which had lodged itself in her throat. "What have you done to yourself?" she murmured.
Before she could stop herself, Bette reached over to brush a few wispy strands of blonde hair away from her face, remembering how full, silky and luxuriant it had once been, flowing endlessly through her fingers when she let her hands get tangled in the soft locks in their passionate embraces.
Her breath hitched at the first feel of the woman she thought she would never see again.
Tina’s face looked gaunt though she was still beautiful but markedly tired with large black circles under her eyes and sunken cheeks.
Tina stirred, whimpering in her sleep, head moving slowly from side to side. A criss appeared on her forehead and her still closed eyes, shut even tighter.
She was in pain and slowly but surely her return to wakefulness was making her conscious of that fact.
Bette did not hesitate, forgetting instantly she was merely here to look after her professionally, and reached to take her hand. The doctor felt the urgent need to reassure, to comfort, to simply be there.
Her hand encircled the smaller pale one but the feeling it procured was nothing at all like she remembered. Instead, it was cold, limp and lifeless.

Her hand grabbed the one from the hastily retreating figure, making the blonde turn around in surprise.
"Bette!" Tina exclaimed in a gasp grasping her chest with her free hand before finishing to turn around, "Goodness ..you scared me.."
"I’m sorry.." Bette replied slightly embarrassed as she reluctantly let go of the warm hand which had squeezed her own so tightly in surprise, "I called your name ….. but I guess you couldn’t hear me!" the doctor explained gesturing towards the wires which Tina was removing from her ears.
"Oh God… bad habit… I know," Tina explained looking at her earphones and back at the brunette, "I cut myself from the world when I’m in town… music over traffic noises.."

Wth…Amnesia?!…..I really, really wanna ask you what happened?..did she cheated, [Tina] ..why did leave?…are they married?.. …Soo many…but I know it will spoilt the plot of the story…… with a heavy heart I will say… …”I will just wait for your next update”…

As with everybody else I definitely need a stronger drink than the twinings everyday I have beside me (Uncannily!) but I am a teetotaler so I’ll just have to wait for you to fix this kins40. ;P
