    Letter 7

    Oh Bette…….
    ……. how I wish we did not live so far apart so your wisdom would have reached me so much quicker. 
    I did it, I went out with my well intending friends. Wednesday past,  two whole days before I received your letter. Never in my life have I been so excited and at the same time so scared of what was ahead of me. I almost felt like Alice disappearing down the rabbit hole to discover a whole new different world.
    We ended up in this bar, not overly pretentious nor was it a forgotten place. It was not labelled per se, but  mostly frequented by women. An unofficial hang out if you wish.  The music was good and the drinks were….pouring a little bit more than usual. I was dancing and having a good time taking in the atmosphere around me. 
    I saw two lovers, two women kissing and my whole body got warm. It made me smile, I felt at home.
    She came up to me and grabbed my hand, she pulled me close. Her hand felt rough against my palm. She wore jeans and an oversized shirt, her hair was short. We danced awkwardly for a little while. I managed to pull away slightly. My heart was pounding in my chest and my head was turning. I momentarily cursed the amount of alcohol I had ingested all in the name of Dutch Courage. 
    She realised I was trying to escape so she led me off the dance floor and to the bar. She motioned to the bartender who brought over two beers and she slammed one in front of me.  She told me to drink it and not to go anywhere because she had every intention of taking me home that night.
    You know what my first thought was. You. I thought about you in that instant and how you would not ever behave the way this woman did. 
    I imagined you. Standing in front of me, talking to me,  with all the gentleness of your written words.
    My heart started beating faster again at that thought but this time the reason for this furtive tachycardia had an empowering effect on me. The dread of  the situation I found myself in disappeared and I heard myself say that I was with someone and that I would not be spending the night with her.

    2. Hehehe, fantastic job, partner! So what do you think, K? Shall we leave it at that? You know, the kind of open ending where the readers can make up their own end according to what they want to happen… Not sure… It’s 2 am now, can we talk about it? ;)

    9. Great update but it leaves me w2anting more, much more. And I hope like hell that you don’t end it now, that would be totally unfair. lol Now I have a question, has anyone ever heard of CELLPHONES for these two? This is written today, not 50 yrs. ago where we only had mail from the post office. GEEZ, let them call one another or send a picture by the cellphone, or let one of them get on a damned airplane. Thanks for posting.

    10. Oh,WOW !!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this !! This is getting mote and more excciting if that was possible and now I know the wait for the next letter is gonna be absolutely excruciating… Grrrr ! Ah, KWord.. You know… About our plans for tomorrow night… I think I might have to cancel, I mean I wouldn’t want to keep you from writing… ;) That wouldn’t be fair for all your fans… You cannot keep them hanging like that.

Too many exciting things!!! :-D first Kins, congrats for being one the proud owner of LH’s painting! :-) may I know which one is that? :-) simply so happy for you!! ^^, second, back to the story… Whoa!! Can’t wait to know what will happen!! :-o I bet Bette would be thrilled!! … Slighty afraid for both of them maybe as you would never know what would happen, whatever in the imagination often much better than reality-even though for them we knew already ;-) it won’t be a nightmare for sure :-) Third, hi Kw.. Cheers!! :-) I hope that your high spirit in discussing the story regardless the timing would mean more chapter and faster reply from both party ;-) ha3 shall I keep cheering you on this?! :-D

    20. Hi Kins, That was truly gorgeous as Tina shared all of her innermost feelings for Bette. The roadhouse moment was funny and sweet given that Tina has given her heart away. Now I can’t wait to find out what reality has instore for these gals. Love and romance for sure. Just an inspiring read. More please and many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.
