An Ode to Summer Chapter 1

We took each other to that place where we have only ever gone together. That place where the deepest parts of me are reflected in the deepest parts of her. Our souls recognize and reach out for the other to be joined once again as time stops momentarily to yield to perfect love. No one and nothing else would ever compare. We were made for each other. Created to love the other deeply from a pure heart. She is the extension and completion of my inner spirit. My true North. I would never be lost again, for in her I will always be…home.

After the aftershocks subside we take a few moments to wash each other, which is the actual point of a shower I guess. We get out, dry off, get dressed and head out the door to the dining hall for dinner.

The food in this place is actually not to shabby and after eating, we spend some time going around talking with the campers. This camp is big on team building and unity, so everyone is encouraged to reach out and get to know one another. It’s good for the kids and you know my dear sweet T and her southern charm, she is totally in her element here. I’m not as good at opening up to new people, but I can tell that some of these kids are in the same boat as I am, and I figure if I can force myself out of my shell, maybe it will help at least one of them feel brave enough to reciprocate.

After dinner we have a time together to reflect on the day’s activities. Everyone meets at an outdoor amphitheater area close to the lake. It’s very peaceful out here at night. There are millions of stars out tonight twinkling their little hearts out for our viewing pleasure. The music team leads us in a few camp songs and then we all sit in silence and meditate. Then, the kids are released to head back to their cabins before lights out.

Tina and I join the other staffers and counselors to do a quick bed check before turning in for the evening.

We arrive back at our cabin and begin to get ready for bed. I crawl in bed first and am sitting quietly when Tina comes out of the bathroom to join me. She has a flashlight in her hand and my curiosity is peaked.

      • Like this story. Always like a story that shows the sweetness of Tina and the love she has for Bette. She is truly a mother at heart, always showing the love, kindness and tenderness and always including others in that loving world of hers. Always love her when she gets a bit ticked off and starts talking thru her teeth, she’s really made when she does that and gets her point across with being really ugly to someone. Bad Tina is lovely. So much fun. Thanks for posting and Welcome. .

    1. You hooked me with this story.
Tina a love of people is because it is taking advantage
the field to give a sample of what Bette
lost in his childhood, when, instead of playing
she had to spend time studying .Tina make dolls
shadow was great! reminded me of mine, because I
      loved doing these shadow puppet.
      I see the beginning of a great story B & T.
      Congratulations!
