    Bette, Tina, Dana, Alice, Shane, Carmen, Jenny, Helena, Mark, Kit, and Marina all receive invitations to a party hosted by Peggy Peabody.

    Marina nodded absently and chewed at her lower lip as she glanced around the room. I love what youve done with the place, she mentioned, changing the subject.

    Kit put her hands on her hips and gazed around proudly. Yeah, I guess I havent done too badly, huh? Things will be even better now that Ive got my new co-owner.

    Are you sure? Marina asked, taking a sip of her coffee.

    Kit waved a hand flippantly. Yeah, girl, of course. Besides, it helps me pay off my loan that much quicker. Plus, this place has been so busy, Im glad to share the responsibility.

    Marina smiled slightly. Why thank you.

    The two sat for a moment in silence, Kit cleaning and Marina staring into her coffee, occasionally taking sips.

    Kit glanced up as Marina asked, By the way, do you know a Peggy Peabody?

    Well, yeah, sort of. Shes helped my baby sister with that art show last spring. Provocations or whatever it was. Also, shes Helenas mother.

    Who?

    Laughing, Kit said, Thats right, I forgot that you havent been around. Girl, Ive got some ***** to tell you. But that can wait. Why did you ask?

    Well, I got this strange invitation this morning, Marina began.

    Dropping the mop, Kit interrupted her. Girl, I got one, too. Isnt that weird?

    Marina looked up at her. Should we go?

    Kit frowned and picked the mop back up. Im not sure. We did get invited, after all. Grinning, Kit added, Maybe Jenny will be there.

    Marina nodded. Im going then. And so are you.

    Laughing, Kit nodded and dipped the mop into a bucket of soapy water. I knew youd agree. Now, let me tell you about some of the things youve missed while you were gone…

    Helena pushed through the door of her office, her assistant hot on her heels. Not now, Julia, I have to call someone.

    The young woman, clearly intimidated by Helena, stuttered a moment and then spoke up. But, Ms. Peabody, this is from your mother.

    Helena paused. My mother? Let me see that, she instructed, holding out her hand to take the invitation. A party, eh? She stared off into space thoughtfully, a crooked grin on her face. This could be interesting. Julia, mark it down in my appointment book for tomorrow, she ordered, collapsing behind her desk and reaching for the phone.

    Yes, Ms. Peabody, the young woman said meekly, quickly scurrying out of the room.

    1. Yes, she was with Helena before, but now she’s with Bette. Everything else that happened in Season 2 is basically the same, except Tina was never pregnant and Marina came back.

    2. Thanks for that little added info there – it makes more sense now. I was interested by the title and thought I’d have a look. OK So I’m interested in the story now. I guess I’ll come along for the ride;-)
