    And you were there…

Tina opened her eyes to find Bette hovering over her, a concerned look on her face.

    “T? Baby?”

“Yeah.” Tina tried to sit, but felt weak. “What’s going on?”

Bette sat on the side of the bed, and placed a cool, damp washcloth on Tina’s forehead. “You’ve been pretty sick, sweetie.”

“Why am I here, instead of my place?”

“Baby, this is your place. Our house, remember.”

Of course it was her house. But there was something, now fading from her thoughts. “I had the weirdest dream, Bette.”

“Do you want to tell me about it?” As Bette asked the question she stroked Tina’s hair, and looked so concerned that it made Tina smile in spite of how she felt.

“Some parts of it weren’t very nice.”

“It was just a dream, T.” Bette brushed at a stray tear that worked its way down Tina’s cheek. “You can talk about it, if it will make you feel better.”

    “Well, it starts bad.”

    “Bad?”

“Really bad.” Upon Bette’s expectant look, Tina continued. “We break up.”

“T.” Bette looked incredulous.  “Now I know it’s a dream.”

    “And so I move out.”

“And then you move back, right, after I stop cheating?”

“Well, you don’t stop for a while.”

Bette shut her lips tightly, but said nothing.

“And while we’re apart, I get pregnant.” That comment merited a raised eyebrow. “The Marcus Allenwood, again. I inseminated myself in secret.”

“Why would you do that all alone, sweetie?”

“After we lost the baby, I figured if we lost this one, you wouldn’t have to know and be upset.”

But the words obviously upset Bette.

“So when do we get back together?”

“Well, I’m pregnant for a while. And then…”

    “Then we get back together?”

“No, then you figure out I’m present.”

    “Tina. Wouldn’t I know you’re pregnant?”

    “We were pretty estranged, Bette.”

    “But I see you, right?”

“Yeah, you see me. I even moved back into the house.”

“So when do I figure out?”

    “Someone tells you.”

    “Oh.”

“But you’re really happy about it, Babe.”

    1. This was so good pseud! Everytime Bett would say “that makes no sense” after Tina would tell her some part of the dream I would LMAO. Who hasn’t yelled that same phrase at their T.V. numerous times over the past 4 years? This was absolutely perfect pseud!

    2. Sounds like, “The Wizard of Weho”. I’m glad that Dorothy (Tina) made it back home. I have my suspicions about why things got so out of hand over on the show, and I’ll bet it had to do with Lu’s unexpected pregnancy and then it snowballed from there. I’m glad you brought Dana back too. Thanks!

    3. I love this, all the dramas is in Tina dream and in reality is B&T together and gang is still there and no one die. Anyway, thanks for sharing this with us and hope to see you with post with another story soon, thanks!

    4. I’ll always miss Dana. The only good thing about Tina’s dream, really, is Angelica. Hm, but Helena… never mind. Peabody Jr. still exists, though, just not in Tina’s post-dream life. I’d still like to think that a child would exist in some point in their future. really enjoyed this, pseud. Thank you

    5. EXCELLENT !! I had so much fun reading it! THanks !! :p Totally agree with you guys, they should really do that, because Dana would be back! But, I don’t know this season mas memorable with all the stuff that happened between our lovely B&T :p I don’t think I could live without those moments lol :D

    6. I get to a computer for the first time in days and I’m greeted with this rather succinct assessment of the chaos that has ruled The L Word for the last four seasons. Unlike your brilliantly conceived story, most of the show hasn’t made sense for quite some time. Whenever you have more time, additional opportunities to read your writing are appreciated.

    7. Ahahaha! I loved this story, Pseud. Thank you for the smiles and laughs. “Most of it was,” Tina agreed. “But some parts were beautiful.” That just about sums it up. If only we could consign some (or most) of the stuff that’s gone on in this show to dreamland. Thank you for writing and sharing!

    8. It’s a wonderful idea to make it all a dream. I’d definitely like to erase Dana’s death – the loss of her character was senseless. I still don’t understand why IC felt it was necessary – so many more thought provoking and affirming storylines could have been developed with her fighting her cancer rather than dying from it. Thanks for sharing…

    9. ld18 is right, someone tell Bobby to get out the freakin’ shower before all the hot water’s gone. ……and you were there. And you. And you. But all I kept telling everybody is ‘I want to go home”….

    10. Wow, that was great if only it had all been a dream on the show. I guess it wouldn’t have been so great when they finally got back together if it had been all a dream though.

    11. We’ve all thought the writers and other creative forces behind the show were losing the plot, but when you put it this way… yeah, it’s just absurd. Thank you for the reminder of the absurdity of it all, for this excellent take on the past few seasons. Your writing is always eagerly anticipated by this reader.

    12. Well since you put it that way it was a nightmare (really). You did an awesome job of showing how stupid the entire plot was throughout the show. How can a show with such talented people all around turn into such a nightmare? Tooo much drama.

    13. Lunatics did take over the asylum…..when you look back on the L, you really have got to think what a pile of crap..only a few good things have come out of the show these last five seasons. As always thanks for posting.
