And you were there…
“So,” Bette peeked at the door to ensure they were really alone. “It was incredible sex?”
“Amazing sex,” Tina confirmed. She remembered some of the other things from around that time, like Melvin’s death, and thought it was best not to tell Bette about that part of the dream. Thinking death of her father would probably be more upsetting to Bette than the loss of her marriage.
“And you moved back home?” Bette prompted.
“I moved back home, and I had the baby. And for some reason, Heart was playing and Gloria Steinham was there.”
“That makes no sense, Tina.” She passed over a glass. “Here’s your drinkie.”
Tina took a sip, then handed the glass to Bette. “Thanks, Al.”
“So, you had the baby?”
“Yeah. It was a little confusing. Besides Heart and Gloria Steinham, Jenny was a stripper.”
“Jenny from next door?”
“That Jenny. Except she was like the worst stripper ever. And I ended up having a caesarian.”
“Where was I?”
“Forget Porter. Where was I?”
“Um, Bette, you were in the delivery room. You cut the cord.”
“Really? What’d we have?”
“A girl. Angelica.”
“Tina, that doesn’t answer where I was.”
“You weren’t there, Alice. You were having some girlfriend issues, I think.”
“Really? I had a girlfriend? Was she hot?”
It occurred to Tina at about that moment that Alice was with Dana in her dream. “Uh, yeah, Alice. Really hot.”
“Was the baby okay?”
“She was beautiful. She looked so much like you, babe.”
The talk of a child brought another smile to Bette’s face, which had been falling back to concern over the sad things that Tina had mentioned. “So we all lived happily ever after?”
“Actually, we had some other issues, and I think I went temporarily insane because I left you for this really boring man.”
“You left me for a man?” Tina felt Bette’s grip on her fingers tighten.
“I don’t know what I was thinking, Bette. Really. I left him when I realized what a mistake I’d made.”
“And we lived happily ever after?”
“Actually, at that point, you were involved with someone from work.”

I like ur version better. I miss the original core cast. poor dana.
Aww, you even brought Dana back….
this is a nice short happy version of the insanity that is the L Word… LOL
This was so good pseud! Everytime Bett would say “that makes no sense” after Tina would tell her some part of the dream I would LMAO. Who hasn’t yelled that same phrase at their T.V. numerous times over the past 4 years? This was absolutely perfect pseud!
too bad they didn’t go with a dream story… it would have saved dana and bette and tina… NOT TO MENTION ALL OF US… a lot of heart ache…
THanks for writing this -and- ‘hooray’ for this: ‘I have other things in the works. I’ll get to them,’!
Sounds like, “The Wizard of Weho”. I’m glad that Dorothy (Tina) made it back home. I have my suspicions about why things got so out of hand over on the show, and I’ll bet it had to do with Lu’s unexpected pregnancy and then it snowballed from there. I’m glad you brought Dana back too. Thanks!
oh that was just fun. it makes the show a bad dream. glad you took the time. thx
It’s always so good to see a new post from you. Thanks! Totally loved it.
That was fun! I really miss Dana and loved how excited Tina was when she walked into the room.
That was a really interesting take on the story. As a fever-induced nightmare, it makes some kind of sense.
I love this, all the dramas is in Tina dream and in reality is B&T together and gang is still there and no one die. Anyway, thanks for sharing this with us and hope to see you with post with another story soon, thanks!
just re read this and like i said before… they should of went with this story line… that it was all a dream…
O hi
I so agree with Luvs on this. Thank you
I really miss Dana :(
I’ll always miss Dana. The only good thing about Tina’s dream, really, is Angelica. Hm, but Helena… never mind. Peabody Jr. still exists, though, just not in Tina’s post-dream life. I’d still like to think that a child would exist in some point in their future. really enjoyed this, pseud. Thank you
EXCELLENT !! I had so much fun reading it! THanks !! :p Totally agree with you guys, they should really do that, because Dana would be back! But, I don’t know this season mas memorable with all the stuff that happened between our lovely B&T :p I don’t think I could live without those moments lol :D
I like Tinas dream because Dana was in it. also that Candace was not really apart of it. thanks
Nice story. If we could all turn it into a dream.
I get to a computer for the first time in days and I’m greeted with this rather succinct assessment of the chaos that has ruled The L Word for the last four seasons. Unlike your brilliantly conceived story, most of the show hasn’t made sense for quite some time. Whenever you have more time, additional opportunities to read your writing are appreciated.
Wow, you summed up 5 seasons in 7 pages. Thanks, I really enjoyed it.
Ahahaha! I loved this story, Pseud. Thank you for the smiles and laughs. “Most of it was,” Tina agreed. “But some parts were beautiful.” That just about sums it up. If only we could consign some (or most) of the stuff that’s gone on in this show to dreamland. Thank you for writing and sharing!
It’s a wonderful idea to make it all a dream. I’d definitely like to erase Dana’s death – the loss of her character was senseless. I still don’t understand why IC felt it was necessary – so many more thought provoking and affirming storylines could have been developed with her fighting her cancer rather than dying from it. Thanks for sharing…
Sounds like “Dallas”!
ld18 is right, someone tell Bobby to get out the freakin’ shower before all the hot water’s gone. ……and you were there. And you. And you. But all I kept telling everybody is ‘I want to go home”….
TOO bad all 5 seasons weren’t a dream! :)
Wow, that was great if only it had all been a dream on the show. I guess it wouldn’t have been so great when they finally got back together if it had been all a dream though.
We’ve all thought the writers and other creative forces behind the show were losing the plot, but when you put it this way… yeah, it’s just absurd. Thank you for the reminder of the absurdity of it all, for this excellent take on the past few seasons. Your writing is always eagerly anticipated by this reader.
Gotta love a good fever-induced dream/nightmare! Thanks for posting.
Well since you put it that way it was a nightmare (really). You did an awesome job of showing how stupid the entire plot was throughout the show. How can a show with such talented people all around turn into such a nightmare? Tooo much drama.
Lunatics did take over the asylum…..when you look back on the L, you really have got to think what a pile of crap..only a few good things have come out of the show these last five seasons. As always thanks for posting.
