SAME DAY
California University
“I have the orders drafted already and just need you authorization,” Joyce stated over the telephone.
“What orders?” Bette asked.
“Oh come on, Bette. We’ve got to move fast. Lawyers all over LA are going to be rushing to file orders, and we have to be first.”
“Joyce, I don’t understand.”
“We are going to demand that Roberta Collie be replaced immediately.”
“Is that wise? Maybe her report was favorable.”
“Give me a break, Bette. You don’t believe that, do you?”
Bette thought for a moment and then admitted, “No.”
“Then why would you ever think of waiting? We’re going to erase Roberta Collie from the adoption proceedings and start fresh. We’ve got to move fast, though, since folks are going be clamoring for the same thing, not to even think about every couple that didn’t have a werewolf member that she rejected in the past. I have the papers sealed and in messengers’ hands, ready to go. So, do I send them?”
Bette thought.
“Bette, hello. Time’s a wasting.”
“I need to talk to Tina.”
“Are you nuts?”
“I can’t alienate her, Joyce. I have to let her know what we’re planning.”

“Well, what did he think?” Helena asked.
Tina looked up and sighed as Helena entered her office and sat down, “He counsels waiting and not challenging Collie unless the adoption goes badly.”
“Has she filed her report?”
“He doesn’t know.”
“But if she hasn’t, she’s not going to be in a position to do so. That means more delays.”
“I know.”
“Have you spoken to Bette?”
Tina nodded. “Joyce wants to act now, but I’m not sure,” Tina thought for a moment. “I’m going to do it whatever way Bette wants.”
Helena asked, “Are you sure?”
Tina sighed, “No, but Bette is the one at risk.”
Helena nodded, “That makes sense. Bette has everything to lose”
Tina looked at Helena in surprise, “Not everything, Helena. No matter what the law says she will still be Angelica’s mother.”
“I still don’t understand how things went so wrong with the social worker.”

david is such an ass…i really liked how all the girls got together to help bette and tina, hopefully new social worker will be much better

tina can just have legal papers drawn up giving bette guardianship of angelica before she is get adopted. then when adoption goes thru everything will be completely legal.
I wonder if the adoption will be addressed in Season 5 or will it have taken place “Off Camera” anyway a good chapter and good for Kit for being David’s shadow. Thank you.
Go Kit! Go Girls! Go Gadget Go! Okay, so scrap the last, but yay for Bette’s friends trying to help her set the adoption right. I did always hope that Dr. Waters would come round, and stop being such a prat, so good on Kit for that. Maybe he and Kit will ahve a relationship some day. I hope so. And from the last chapter, LOL @ Roberta Collie being a “Furry”! Great posts, Spumoni. Thanks and happy holidays!
David is an ass. And I have always hated how Alice treated Tina that season.. it was out of the line for a friend. You have kept with that spirit. But glad you are filling in the blanks with this story.
David IS an ass, and Alice’s should have been kicked for how she acted that day of the visit. Real friends don’t do that,especially at a critical moment like that, but Alice is another who never has consequences from her friends for her actions. Tina doesn’t need any help, she has nothing at risk, but is delusional if she doesn’t believe Bette has everything to lose, just because she at this point in time says Bette is Angelica’s second parent. I want the new social worker to be competent and sane and get this over with so Bette never has to worry again. PS..remind me never to get Kit mad at me!!!
We all agree: David is an ass but blame IC for her handling of that whole adoption mess. Every situation doesn’t call for slapstick humor or outrageous comments like Alice and David made. Bette was unreasonable enough and that whole craziness w/the social worker and fuzzy faces was ridiculous. JB was preggers in RL and that 3rd season was the season from hell, IMHO. I was angry w/IC for presenting such unreasonable situations and harping on them. And any serious scenes w/Bette and Tina were so quick and undeveloped. I was just going to make a short comment but I went on this rant. I guess S3 bugged me too much. You’re doing a fine job w/reconstructing the story into a rational one. Thanks.
I strongly believe Angelica doesn’t need as person like David in her life! I do not see how he is going to enrich her life with all his Melvin Porter School Hypocritical,discriminating and condescending views towards life and people! I don’t care if he is related to Bette. In this case he proved that Blood is not thicker than water and family means nothing from the first instance! Although I do want David to APOLOGIZE TO Bette and beg (yes BEG!!) for forgiveness for his uncalled for and callous behavior considering the circumstances of his first visit. I do not want to see what David is doing to be made into as a big favor that he is doing for his aunt, as far as i am concerned Bette doesn’t need favors from such A* regardless of the situation. He should be doing it towards his repentance for trying to ruin Angie’s life by denying her her mother. Sorry for the long winded comment but the David scene disturbed me immensely! I do not trust him with Angelica’s life. He is ungrateful and pretentious. Please keep going. So far I like the way you are handling the story. Thank you! :)
