Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 17
Chapter 17
Angelica continued to stand in the doorway of the living room of her apartment.
Bette and Tina looked towards their daughter, but neither knew what to say in response.
Then without warning all three of them burst out laughing. Angie returned to the sofa and once she was able to regain her composure she asked again why her mom’s had come to New York a few days early.
It turned out that it had been Bette who was worried that Angie may not be in the right frame of mind to set up her new show, given what she had shared of her recent trip to Rome and the affect that meeting this mysterious woman – Lyndsay Adams had on her. So Bette had decided that coming a few days sooner to help with the final preparations would be a good idea.
Angelica looked at her Mom’s. “Thank you, I am glad you are here, but I have to say your timing couldn’t have been worse.”
Tina looked at her daughter and some how managed to keep a straight face as she replied
“I think given what we walked in on, that had we arrived 5 or 10 minutes later, that it actually could have been much worse.”
The young Porter simply looked at her Mom’s, then blushed and said “Yeah, actually I think you are right about that.”
After asking a few more questions about Lyndsay, the conversation then turned to the show preparations and what still needed to be done. Even though she felt that she was ahead of schedule and knowing that there were few people better than Bette Porter at setting the layout and lighting for an art show, Ang was actually glad to have her Mom available to help. They discussed what needed to be done and decided that they would get an early start the next morning on completing the setup. Tina, had no interest in hanging out at the gallery, so she decided that she would give Helena a call and see if she was available to meet for lunch and do some shopping.
It turned out that Helena had a meeting in the morning, but would be free for lunch and to spend the afternoon with Tina, so they arranged to meet at Helena’s office.

OMG, we have to wait till the fall. This update was awesome and you’ve so left us hanging. I don’t know if even the great Bette Porter can get Lyndsay to agree. I still feel theirs something she’s hiding. I guess if you need a break its okay, at least I know not to check everyday hoping theirs an update. Besides the wedding is probably a bit more important. Enjoy and we will be anxiously awaiting your return.
Bette still has not learned that she can’t control everything and everybody. This is probably one she will not win. Qustion is: why doesn’t Lyndsay want her work shown? After all it will be shown in NY or LA nor her hometown. Oh God, is she Marcus Allenwood’s child? Certainly hope not. Will we get another chapter before you go on summer hiatus? If not, then have a great rest of the summer and we will look forward to many chapters in the fall. Best wishes with the wedding and congrats to your lady.
this is going to be good I think that mom and daughter may fall out over this one and I also feel that tina will agree with ang on this one as well but I can’t wait to see what will happen so pps great update I love it
Tazzie, I can’t believe you’d turn to wedding blitz and a happy life instead of writing for us. LOL You know just between us it dosen’t seem Chicks in need of that dog house right now any way, just in case. Congradulations and we’ll be waiting when you can come up for air. Thank you, Md
Tazzie! Damn girl this was absolutely brilliant. I’m telling you, as I’ve told you a million times before, you have had an amazing talent tucked away. I am so fortunate to have some how, some way found a path that crossed with yours and eventually ended in not only an amazing friendship….but an extraordinary birth to your creative abilities. I’m not sure at what point you rolled your sleeves up, but when you did and started tapping at that keyboard it has been a whirlwind of successful storytelling. Thank you my friend for sharing so much with others, and for the friendship that has grown so big over the past several months. As for the wedding. Gosh you so know how I feel about you and P. Let’s hope UPS knows how much I do too and keeps that darn shipment on schedule. Love and hugs hun. TTYS. Oh, and about that dog house. It’s a duplex so whenever you need a place, it’s usually available. LOL! xo
Good luck. The “to do” lists are fun – been there done that. I hope you and P have a great wedding and many happy years together. I guess I’ll have to wait for some more posts.
Congradulations! I will be awaiting your return. I so love this story.
Oh sh*t, I’m going to miss you and this story, but I guess a wedding (especially when it’s yours) is a good enough reason. Best of luck and have fun!
Tazzie, just have the best time in your wedding and congratulations for you and P. May you enjoy the happiest days of your life together. You will be missed, but you so deserve to have this dream come true. We shall wait for you in the Fall. Receive big hugs and kisses on both your cheeks. – Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)
Whilst I’m happy for you I am very sad that this particular story won’t be around for a while. Hoping all goes well for you. Thx for the entertainment.
