    Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 34

Angelica looked at Lyndsay and saw the sincerity displayed in her eyes. She reached over and took her hand. “You know how much I love you right?”

Lyndsay smiled, “yes…….it’s as much as I love you. Now promise me you will put the nerves aside and just let it happen. I promise, everything will be ok when we get to Raleigh.”

Angie leaned in and gave her a soft, gentle kiss. “We should get going before your friend thinks we have stood her up.”

They got out of the car and walked into the restaurant. Lyndsay saw Carolyn sitting over in the corner at a booth and motioned to Angelica to follow her. They arrived at the table and Carolyn stood to give her friend a hug. “Hey you, I was getting worried. Is everything OK?”

“Hi Car, sorry, we just got delayed a little. Carolyn, this is Angelica, Ang this is my best friend Carolyn.”

Angie held out her hand which Carolyn ignored and instead she proceeded to give her a hug as well. “Ang, if you are the one responsible for putting that smile on her face, then a handshake will not do.”

From within the bear hug Angie replied, “it’s nice to meet you too.”

The girls took their seats and started in on a conversation. As the evening progressed, Angie became increasingly more comfortable in the company of Lyndsay’s oldest friend. It wasn’t long before stories of Lyndsay’s childhood started to be relayed and Angie laughed at the antics of the two friends. This was quite the dynamic duo when it came to getting into and out of trouble.

The first awkward moment of the evening came when Lyndsay excused herself to go to the Ladies room. Angelica knew that Carolyn wanted to say something to her, she could sense it.

Not wanting to prolong it any longer, she chose to speak first and give Carolyn the opportunity to say what was on her mind.

“Carolyn, I can tell that you have something you want to say, so please just go ahead. Say what’s on your mind.”

Carolyn was at first taken aback by the forwardness of the young gallery owner, but this was about Lyndsay, and her happiness that was at stake so she wasn’t about to let anyone, not even Angelica Kennard-Porter mess with her best friend. “She loves you. I’m sure by now that you have realized that.”

    1. Looks as though the dinner meeting with Carolyn was a success and everyone wants the same thing, happiness for Lyndsay and Angie. Angie was very wise in getting that out in the open with Carolyn. And she should not have any problems with Lyndsay’s parents either, even though “she is as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs,” everything will go fine with the parents. Great chapter. PPS

    2. Good job Taz, now for the parents, ya the dreaded parents meeting. I am sure Angie will do great. Hey dose this Angie cook? Can she help with the dinner? Thank you, Md

    3. Honestly, If I was Carolyn and had been friends with Lyndsay that long I would have asked the same things, even if Angie had been a man. Anyway, I think they like each other and now Angie has had a dry run before Lyndsays parents. Great update Taz and wonderfully written.

    4. Well look at who surprised me tonight! I loved it Tazzie. That conversation was one that I could certainly see happening in someone like Carolyn’s position. Her best friend is embarking on not just a relationship which she has fallen completely in love with the person, BUT…that “person” is a female, and a sexual presence that is unfamiliar grounds to Lyndsay. I would likely have one of those hard decisions in behalf of a good friend myself. VERY believable. You did a fabulous job blending the feelings of each person in this chapter. Let’s just see where this one goes now eh? :-)))) Thanks for posting hun. xo

    5. Hey Tazzie, what a pleasant surprise you gave us. We didn’t expect this post. As for the story, Angie showing her vulnerable side to Lynds, required a lot of effort. But it was the best thing to do, in order to avoid any future misunderstanding. Carolyn’s concern for her best friend’s happiness is very sweet. This reunion was a nice prelude to meeting Lynds parents as the girlfriend. We agree with Lynds. Angie should be her own self. Can’t wait for Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks, Tazzie for such a lovely update. Hugs & kisses on both your cheeks. Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)

    6. Hey, if I was Carolyn I would have asked the same questions. I’m sure Lynsday’s thought this through, we already know she took her time before contacting Angie again. It will go fine with the folks, relax Ang.
