    "Tina, please, calm down," Shane whimpered softly.

    "I should have believed her," Tina sobbed laying on Shane’s chest, "if I would have believed her she wouldn’t have left."

    "Come on that video looked realistic," Shane said.

    "No Shane," Tina said, "it’s my fault."

    5:00pm

    "Mr. Parker?" The nurse said walking out into the waiting room.

    "Yes!" Leo cried standing up worriedly.

    "Fortunately,your blood donation was enough to stabilize the woman you brought in," the nurse said, "but she sustained major injuries. She seems to have some kind of amnesia, she has a dislocated shoulder, a severe concussion because of the head trauma, and severe nerve damage."

    "Nerve damage?" Leo said.

    "Yes, unfortunately, the patient will not be able to move her legs. She’s paralyzed from the waist down," the nurse said, "however, tomorrow Dr. Thompson would like to try an experimental nerve surgery, and the patient has agreed. If this surgery is successful, she may be able to learn to walk again through physical therapy."

    "That’s amazing! I’m a physical therapist, I would love to help," Leo’s eyes glimmered with hope, "but are there risks?"

    "Unfortunately, there’s alot more risk than probability of success," the nurse said grimly.

    "Oh my God," Leo said.

    "But she’s alive, and she has you to thank," the nurse said, "would you like to see her?"

    "Yes please," Leo said. The nurse guided him into the ICU and took her to Bette’s room.

    "Hey," Bette smiled as the young man stepped into the room shyly.

    "My injured stranger," Leo said softly, "you’re alive."

    Bette smiled at the nickname and said, "yeah, but I’m in pain and I can’t feel my legs."

    Leo sighed and said, "did the nurse tell you?"

    Bette’s eyes welled with tears as she nodded. Leo gave her a sympathetic smile.

    "You don’t have to do that surgery you know, it’s very dangerous," Leo offered.

    "I know but I want to," Bette said, "I figure if God was good enough to save me from that accident I don’t even remember, and put you in my life, my own hero, then maybe He might make the surgery work."

    "I hope so," Leo said, "and if it does, I’ll be your physical therapist." 

    "So you’re a physical therapist? You know Leo, it just occurred to me that you were probably heading somewhere when you found me," Bette said, "I’m sorry for keeping you from that."

    4. I am so glad Bette’s getting her memory back. Slowly but surely she’ll remember more. I hope the surgery works on Bette. Maybe she should get McDreamy to do her surgery ;) lol. On a Grey’s binge lol. Amazing story, sounds like Leo may have a new family to be apart of.

    8. brilliant, as always, i love it, Tina nearly hitting Kelly brilliant, as always you are great! Love this story, oh dear, i better go and pack, i’m suppose to be getting a train to my mums, and what am i doing reading your up date! lol

    13. Okay there’s something missing. How did the police know to go to Tina, she didn’t call them and report Bette missing. So maybe Leo will go to the police and see if they knew who to contact because of the car going over the bridge. I like Leo, he is one determined guy and I’m so glad he came along when he did. He can apply some common sense to this situation and find Tina and get her to Bette. Tina needs to calm down and understand that if Bette were deceased she would be the first to know it because of their very deep connection. She is letting her emotion get in the way which is, of course, natural but she needs to come down and center herself and think. The police needs to check the hospitals and the hospital needs to check with the police dept to see if they have anyone reported to have been in a car accident and the car went over the bridge. They must apply their emergency procedures to determine who Bette is and I think Leo will help a lot with that. Great chapter. Thanks.

    14. The girls should have let Tina shred Kelly to pieces. How can Bette remember Tina, the gallery, and where she used to live and NOT her own name????? Hmmm. But, I am willing to wait and find out. Leo, go find Tina. It shouldn’t be so hard.

    18. Wow I almost cried at the beginning of this story even though I knew Bette was still alive I felt so sorry for Tina and what she was going through! Great story so far :D
