    As One Door Closes…

“Yes, you’re so right, she is a very caring person. I think she has a huge loving heart, too. Sure, go check it out and think about what you may want to decorate the walls.” Tina replied to him and he beamed as he turned around and headed for the bedroom that he and Ozzie would share.

When Tina was finished with the clothes, she went back out to the living room where Bette and Ozzie were sitting. She found them sitting in the big over-sized chair together, her holding him, staring off into space as he slept on her shoulder. She had a very peaceful contented look upon her beautiful face that Tina couldn’t help notice. Her heart opened up another notch for Sergeant Bette.

She quietly walked over and gently laid a hand on Bette’s shoulder to let her know that she was there. It took a moment for Bette to register the hand, but when she did, her smile was even more beautiful. “Hey… are you okay?” Tina asked her in a soft voice as to not wake Ozzie.

“Hi… sorry, my thoughts took me away for a little while. I’m fine… in fact I’m more than fine. I love our boys. I can’t wait to be their mom. This little guy is so precious. I love him already.”

“Well, again, if I can add my two cents worth in here, I love our boys too. Max is a brilliant guy and has such a big heart. You look so content sitting there with Ozzie asleep on your shoulder. Maybe we should shop tomorrow for the furniture.”

“No, for me, it would be better to do it today. Maybe we can find one of those running strollers while we’re out, I love to run 5 miles in the mornings so I could take him with me. And we could use it for him when we’re out shopping or doing whatever.    Is that okay with you?”

Tina beamed at her already feeling that she loved the way this was going with this new and amazing woman in her life. Here before her was this incredible woman whose beauty was unsurpassed but who was very shy and didn’t realize that about her self. Her heart was huge as she cared so much for the little boys and she had said ‘our’ boys.
