Bette: “this is weird, father, you are proposing three new positions, are you planning to boycott them? Or maybe you have someone already to fill the third one.”
Melvin: “Bette, are you accusing me? The only thing I have done is mathematics we proposed to remove 24 workers and hire 25 new ones; now that only two were removed we could hire the difference which is three.”
Bette: “so, you from the beginning were thinking of bringing someone else from outside.”
Phyllis: “order, please, stop fighting, we should vote.”
Peggy: (counting) “seven in favor and one abstention…, from Bette.”
The meeting ended, Melvin tried to speak with her daughter, but Bette told him that she has things to do and to talk later.
Alice: “are we gonna have lunch? That meeting made me hungry.”
Bette: “I see, well it made me angry, but we have to eat, okay, James do you come with us or you have one of your secret dates.”
James: “ha-ha…, it’s too early for that; I’ll go with you girls.”
Bette: “fine, but first let me call Kit, I haven’t seen her since yesterday, she told me that she will give me a surprise…, I think she is planning a birthday party for me…, by the way, do you know anything?”
James: “oh oh, don’t ask me, I know nothing.”
Alice: “neither I do… but what would you like for surprise?”
Bette: “uhu, traitors…, okay, what would I like…, no I like something that Kit would never approve.”
Alice: “come on, Bette, tell us.”
Bette: “okay, what about a big cake that breaks from the top when I blow the candles and a very beautiful bikini girl comes out of it to hug and kiss me and take me to a private room.”
Alice: “oh my God, I need air…is hot here.”
James: “wow, even I don’t like girls, I feel already hot.”
Alice: “you gross, James, and Bette, you’re right, Kit wouldn’t approve.”
Bette: “I told you, it’s okay, let me talk with her.”
Bette goes a little farther from her friends and using her speed dial, she called Kit.
Kit (answering the phone) “hey, baby-sis, how are you, to what do I own this happy call?”
Bette: “you told me yesterday to call you today at noon and that you have a nice surprise for me…”
