“I already called Alice—really, I covered all the bases, Tina. She’ll turn up eventually, so don’t worry about her. You just concentrate on you, okay? Let me deal with Shane.” Tina sighed, “Well, you can start by not looking at her as something you have to “deal” with. That might help.”

“Help who,” Bette asked, as she studied the envelope, “And where did this come from, are we getting her mail now?” Tina smiled and redirected her attention to the omelet. “Alice and Dana must have used your pool this morning. They dropped off your mail a little while ago.”

Bette put the envelope to the side and began skimming through the rest of the mail. “Oh, look, my father has taken to writing me,” she said, as she reluctantly ripped at the envelope, “This should be good.”

    Dearest Bette,

Since you no longer answer your phone, and from what I can tell, no longer work at your own gallery, I’ve decided to take a trip west to see for myself how and what you are doing with your life. I was about to hire a private investigator, but Katie advised me that you were, in fact, still alive and well. I will be arriving on September 15th. I hope all will be back in order when I arrive.

    Sincerely,

    Melvin Porter

    “That’s just wonderful!”

“What,” Tina asked, “What does he say?” Bette tossed the letter onto the table. “He’s coming here in a couple of weeks—to check on me.” Tina smirked as she dropped the plate in front of her. “Here, eat this.”

    “I really should call him.”

“Eat first, you’ll need the energy,” she said, as she reached for Bette’s hand. “Something tells me we both will.”

Alice was floating around on the raft listening to her Ipod when the ice cube bounced off her thigh and hit her in the face. Removing an ear bud, she smiled and said, “Hey, look who decided to come home.” Bette was standing over her smirking, “You’re always asking me if I have a job, I think the same could be asked of you. And where’s Dana?”

    1. Glad to see this one back.Hopefully Shane shows up so the girls can become closer.I also hope Tina moves in with Bette so they can move past the illness and build a life together.

    2. Shane will show up when she is ready. Hope that Tina does move in with Bette, good old Melvin will try to play hell with Bette and Tina Lets see how strong Bettes love for Tina is, will she stand up to him. thanks

    3. Hhmmph…Bette is being just a tad ungrateful to Shane considering Shane may have just saved Tina’s life. I know Bette’s got some issues going on in her head about the sister thing and Melvin coming, but she needs to recognize the sacrifice Shane made for both of them. Tina should definitely move in with Bette. Can’t wait for your next post Girl!

    4. I wonder where Shane is? So Bette’s father is going to make his presence known to Tina and the others. I can’t wait to read about the dinner party.

    5. Wrong answer Bette Tina wants Shane to be a part of thier lives. Melvin coming is just going to make things worse he won’t want to have anything to do with Shane or Tina, especially after he finds out they all know the secreat now.

    6. Hope Tina makes the decision to move in with Bette, they need each other now. Melvin will be his usual “ass” self and not accept either of the girls or the circumstance. PPS
