The Date

   The door rang right at 7. Bette was surprised that Tina had made it somewhere on time. Bette could feel butterflies in here stomach, she was so nervous about going out with Tina. Bette had thought about why she was so nervous all week and the only thing that she could come up with was that she was meant to have a long meaningful relationship with the beautiful blonde that was waiting on the outside of her house.

   Before Tina rang the door bell she took a deep breath hoping it would calm her down some. She wanted tonight be great for Bette and her. She knew that there was something about Bette that made her want to know everything about her and she hoped that she would be able to find out all of it.

Bette opens the door with a big smile

Bette: Hey you found the place

Tina: Yeah and I am even on time

Bette: I know I was shocked when I heard the door bell right at 7.

Tina: Ha Ha you ready

Bette: Yes I am

   After about a 30 minute ride out of town Tina pulls into the parking lot of the restaurant. When they are in the waiter sets them right away. Tina had called ahead and reserved a table in the corner away from everyone else. This made Bette’s butterflies in her stomach jump up down. She wonders just how Tina found this place.

Tina: Bette I hope you like real Italian food. It never crossed my mind to ask

Bette: I love Italian food and Tina how did you find this place in the middle of no where?

Tina: I was up here about 6 months on location for a movie. We came here for the wrap party. It is such a nice place and the food is wonderful.

Bette: Do you do a lot of traveling for your job?

Tina: Well being a VP I will not have to travel much but if I decide to be over any of the onset production I would have to travel where ever the movie would be made. We try to build some sets at the studio but it is great for a movie if you have the budget to go on location. Like this week we start on the movie that is being filmed at the CAC.

Bette: So are you still over that movie?

Tina: Bette if you want to know if I am going to be at the CAC just ask me.

Bette: Okay, Tina are you going to be at the CAC while filming is going on?

Tina: Yes I will be. This week I do know that I will not be there on Wednesday because I am doing the photo shoot for the LA Magazine.

Bette: I can’t believe you let Alice talk you into that.

Tina: I’m honored to be on the cover of the magazine she works for. You may not believe it but that is a good magazine. So Bette does your job require you to travel?

Bette: I sometime have to go to New York to look at new an artist.

Tina: I love going to New York!

   Bette and Tina had stayed 2 hours at the restaurant talking. Bette learned that Tina was the youngest child. Her sister Christy was 3 yrs older, and her brother Dewayne was only a year older then her. Tina had told her that her parents has been married for 36 yrs. Tina told her that she wanted a long lasting marriage like her parents.

   Tina was shocked that Bette was the sister of Kit Porter. She had loved Kit Porter’s music for as long as she could remember. Bette had told her that they were half sister, they have the same father. Bette never said anything about her mother and Tina found that odd.

  The drive back to Bette’s house was small talk about Bette’s friends that she had met. When they arrived at the house Tina walked Bette back to her door and gave her a kiss on the check and said bye and left. Both women did not sleep well at all that night.
