CHAPTER V

Helena and I walked in hand in hand to share the wonderful news with the Queen. As we turned the corner Helena stopped abruptly. We could hear the Queen yelling. “Elizabeth is out of control.”

Helena took a deep breath. “There always fighting about her.”

I took this opportunity to find out more about Princess Elizabeth. “Why? What’s the story with her?” I rubbed her arms trying to sooth her. She was always so tense.

“Elizabeth has always been a little difficult. At a very young age she left Fangura to travel with her mother Olivia. Ever sense then she’s just always got into trouble and she sleeps around. She completely avoids any royal responsibility. She hasn’t been back in years and because she’s constantly in trouble I’m concerned she will one day bite off more then she can chew.”

I nodded understanding.

“She was promised to be married but sense she hasn’t been back in years. She’s the only one I know to defy a direct order from our queen and still remain alive to tell the story.”

“Who’s she going to marry?”

“Princess Xiomara from planet Vito.”

“Oh I’ve heard she’s extremely beautiful.” I had heard the rumors. There had been many to go ask the queen of Vito for the princess hand in marriage. The queen always refused.

“Like a goddess.”

“I thought the queen didn’t want her to marry.”

“Originally but princess Xiomara has fallen in love with my dear sister. She asked for the arrangement. In return they create an alliance and give us plenty of goods. Rumor is that Elizabeth and Xiomara have already consummated their relationship. Soon after she left and is never in one place long enough for anybody to really ever know where she is.”

She grabbed my hand and kissed it before leading me to the main hall were Queen Peggy continued her rant.

As we entered Helena stepped forward and got on one knee. “Mother I have news.”

The queen smiled at us both. “Is it urgent or can you share the news over lunch?”

“Let’s have some lunch. It’s excellent news after all.”

Once we sat around the queen Princess Katherine and Olivia joined us.

“Mother Christina and I are expecting our first born.”

The queen was more than excited with the news.

“You see Katherine; my youngest daughter will give me my first grandchild.”

“Which is strange since the prophecy states your second daughter will give you the first and that child will rule all 7 planets.”

I looked over at Helena for some kind of confirmation of what was being said. It now made sense why Fangura was creating alliances. They planned to take over. I wondered what would happen to my planet.

“For all we know Elizabeth may already have a child out somewhere. She has been gone long enough.” Olivia said. When she spoke about her daughters their always was a look of pride that was contagious. You could tell she would do anything for her daughters and that the queen’s betrayal hurt her deeply.

Over all she seemed to have a good relationship with Helena. She was distant with me though.
