I kept pushing. As much as they wanted me to push. I was all sweaty but I knew what I had to do. I had to push my baby out of me. The harder I pushed the weaker I felt. Until I heard her.

“ARHHHHHHH” my baby’s cries. I felt joy in my heart. Our little family was now complete. 

Once I woke up again. Katherine who I had chosen to deliver my child. Was holding her and handed her over to Helena. I could see Helena smile holding our baby girl. Helena’s face suddenly got very serious.

“This isn’t my child!” She screamed.

“What?” I heard myself say.

Helena handed the child back to Katherine and walked out.

Katherine looked into my eyes. “I’ll watch over this baby until this nightmare is over. But baby girl, I think honesty will save not only your life but this baby’s.”

I couldn’t help the tears that came down. I reached out for my baby. I didn’t know what was happening. I just knew that this baby was mine. Katherine placed her in my arms. “Angelica” I whispered.  

The baby in my arm opened her eyes. I could feel the power behind them. They where hazel, like my own. Her skin however was dark. Like… like the brunette I kept picturing in my dreams. ‘

‘OH SHIT!’ my baby was like a mirror for the human I had walked out on.

I held my baby close. “You’re my baby and that’s all that matters.”

She looked into my eyes. Then closed them and went into a deep sleep.

Queen Peggy walked into the room.

“Katherine, what’s this I bullshit I hear. Hand me my grandchild.”

Katherine walked to me and picked up the sleeping child. I didn’t protest. I felt she was safe with Katherine. Once this child was in Queen Peggy’s arms it began to cry.

Queen Peggy laughed, for a second I felt like I had seen that laugh before. I quickly brushed it off.  If the queen or my wife didn’t recognize it as their own. Not only me but my baby where in trouble.

“Silence” Queen Peggy spoke sternly. The child became silent.

Queen Peggy looked deeply into her eyes. “This isn’t Helena’s child.” she handed her to Katherine. “I do feel a blood connection. Is this baby yours Katherine?”

Katherine smiled widely, as she held this baby close to her. “I wish mother, but this child has our blood running through her. I can feel it.”

Queen Peggy walked up to me. Placed her hand over my forehead. “Sleep my child. Once you’re awake you will answer all my questions. I must go to Helena before she does something stupid. “

Once Queen Peggy left. Katherine turned to me with a raised eyebrow. “Bond with your child.” She placed the baby in my arms. “Tomorrow is a new day. I’ll have Dana stand guard your door.”

“Katherine can I please ask a favor of you?” I wasn’t sure how she felt about the whole thing. It was apparent I betrayed her sister.”

“Of course”

“Can you please have Carmen come to my room?”

She nodded before getting up and walking out.

My angel had settled next to me.

I closed my eyes and found a deep sleep. Once again a brunette named Bette appeared in my sleep. She was more beautiful than ever. This time however, I recalled more of my mysterious Bette.
