    Getting to know you

    It was 7:45 and Brady was still running his mouth about his likes and dislikes about the party as well as what he wanted for next year.

     

    Harmony:  Is he freaking kidding me?!  What happened to a quick drink?  Its almost been an hour.  II don’t  have time to listen to him blather on about this nonsense that could easily be discussed via email. Its almost 8! Ahhhhhhh! STOP TALKING!  I will not have Bette waiting. 

     

    She took out her Treo and sent Bette a text message.

     

    Message 1:

    Brady still talking.  Get table.  See you soon.

     

    Bette’s phone rang just as she was pulling up to the parking lot.  She read the message and  did as she was told.  The restaurant had low romantic lighting.  Bette requested a table for  two and was led to a slightly secluded booth towards the back.  She texted her back and told her she was there.  Harmony’s phone rang.  She read the text.

     

    Harmony:  Damnit!  I gotta get out of here.  She’s waiting.  Brady has to go.  “Excuse me Nick  but I really have to be going.  I have dinner plans.”

     

    Brady:  “Oh yes of course.   I guess I have been going on for a while.”

     

    Harmony:  “I would like to thank you for helping my friend Bette out with her job situation.  She told me she’s had several job offers.”

     

    Brady:   “Please it was my pleasure.  Especially after all you’ve done for me over the years.”

     

    Brady was really a nice guy except when it came to his parties.  Then he became a real pain.  He took his rep very seriously.  Harmony got up.

     

    Harmony:  “Well thanks again.”

     

    Brady:   “Go.  Get out of here.  We’ll be talking again soon enough.”

     

    Harmony:  “I’m sure.  Goodnight”

     

    She turned and left the bar.  She was grateful that the bar and restaurant were separate so Bette wouldn’t see her.  Harmony ran quickly to the bathroom and looked in the mirror.  She took her hair from its bun and it fell and draped across her shoulders and back.  She buttoned her jacket right under her breast and undid the top two buttons of her blouse revealing a little cleavage.  She applied some lightly tented lip gloss and was ready to go.  She took a deep breath, checking it in the process and exited the bathroom.  She informed the hostess she was there to meet Bette and was led to the table.  Bette was so nervous that she didn’t notice Harmony approach.

There is such a natural flow to this story, your dialogue is perfect and the cast is to die for…I liked MK enough, but never truely died for her…now Harmony here, there is just something about their pairing that makes it right…pls more chapters it’s so easy to read and get lost in…thankyou..
