I see his gloved hands, covered in blood, bring something to my chest. I look down and see the gapping hole in my rib cage as he uses the item to separate the bones. I hear the crackling of cartilage separating from bone and other bones grinding into each other.the sound makes my skin crawl. The site combined with the sound makes me sit straight up in terror. I look around to see the surgical team still working on the table. Frantically hopping off the high platform, I almost fall when I land. I search the room for some sign of help….to no avail. Everyone in the room is focused on the table.I look to see a womans body.her chest agape with the metal guides. I pear into the incision to see something moving.her heartand lungs. I take a closer look to find an injury on her head above the right eye. A blood-soaked gauze covers the woundbut its a wound nonetheless. The right side of her face is almost purple from the pooling blood and swelling.but she looks familiar. Who is this woman? And where do I know her from?
