Tina replies with the innocence of a 3 year old child, “I forgot to turn the oven off while I was waiting on the steamed vegetables….now dinner’s completely ruined.”

Bette takes the dish from Tina and places it on the night stand. She wraps her arms aroung Tina’s waist and kisses her sweetly while walking her backwards into the bathroom. In between kisses she softly whispers, “I’ll tell you what (kiss) let me gelp you out of these restricting clothes (kiss) I’ll run you a nice warm bath (kiss) and you relax (kiss) while I take care of dinner.”

Tina: “But baby….”

Bette: “Shhh….” as she places a finger over Tina’s lips “….no but’s…just let me love you.”

Bette turns on the water in the bathtub and pours in bathsalts to help with relaxation. She kisses Tina while slowly undressing her. Once she is undressed, Bette helps her into the warm bath. She kisses her gently and says, “Now lay back and relax…..I’ll be back in a little while.” As she turns to leave she lights a few candles near the sink and turns off the lights.

Bette walks into the kitchen, fanning the smoky haze out of her face. She cleans up Tina’s mess and washes the dishes. Then, she smiles when she notices the place settings for two on the dining table. She thinks to herself, “How did I get so lucky….she even set out candles.” In an effort to complete the mood, Bette, pulls Tina’s favorite wine from the cabinet,and sets it on the table in an ice bucket. She calls Formaggio’s Italian Bistro and places a delivery order. Then returns her attention to Tina.

Tina has fallen asleep in th tub. Bette kneels and gently wakens her. Tina opens her eyes and smiles up at Bette, “Hey baby….I didn’t mean to fall asleep…it just feels so nice in here….care to join me?”

Bette: “Nah, I think I’ll just bathe you.”

Tina: (pouting) “Please”

Bette: “Baby, I want this to be all about you….I want to pamper you.”

After playing the pawn in Helena’s sordid game, Bette needs to feel Tina, to let her know how much she means to Bette. Bette needs to know they belong only to each other and no one else can affect that. She wants so desperately to convey her love, to Tina, through her affections.
