Chapter 18 – Sleepover
Anita stopped in her tracks and looked at Alice her face completely neutral although she could feel a faint sense of horror starting to fill her. Zerbrowski hadnt mentioned anything about other murders. All she had knowledge of were the three murders shed been asked to investigate. She put the pictures back in the envelope while she tried to gather her thoughts.
What murders? Anita asked cautiously. Suddenly all eyes were turned on Alice.
The flayings in all those other cities. Are you serious? You havent heard about them? Alice turned around and pulled out her bag from behind the table. She started rummaging through it pulling out random objects. Objects you would expect to find in a womans purse, like her wallet, her keys, a tampon Finally she dug out some print outs shed made earlier. She handed them to Anita as she started putting things back in her bag.
There have been similar murders in over half a dozen cities from Saint Louis to San Francisco to New Orleans. Those got the most press. I also managed to find some additional cases in a bunch of smaller towns that sounded similar, but Im not sure cause the documentation was a little shoddy. But you can see on those pictures that its pretty much the same MO That is like such a strange word MO. Youd think it was some kind of slang or something. Or maybe some type of drink you could order in a bar or something, Alice said waving the tampon in her hand. Before she could continue her train of thought, or rather the train wreck of her thought, Shane quickly interrupted her.
How come you havent heard about them?
Yeah dont you have like some hotshot databases? I thought cops were really big on those.
Im not a cop, Anita responded a little absentmindedly to Alices question. She was trying to make out the pictures in the rather grainy gray print outs Alice had produced. She hated to admit it, but the bodies looked rather similar to the ones she had seen before. This meant that this was not an isolated event, but that there was a serial killer out there moving from city to city. And now he had come here. She didnt quite know what to think of it. Shed have to inform Zerbrowski and see what he made of it. She doubted though that the other police departments would be willing to cooperate. Coordinating an investigation was like trying to get a kindergarten class high on sugar to stand in a straight line.

Ok how did Shane get her powers…hmm I’m going to say daughter of of some powerful vamp. That’s my guess, well for now that is.

I have a question…. Is Belle Shane’s mother? it would explain why She is so interested in getting her, and why Shane has the powers. Love this story, sorry that I have been silently reading along, you write very well.

Ok I’m back. I’m watching CSI right now and the person who plays Robin is on it, so I’m going to say she could be Belle. I know she was never in the sun. Also I was going to say last time that Belle could be Shane’s mum but with the crazy idea that Alice’s mum could be Belle I thought that would be one crazy idea for the night. See I can’t really see Shane doing something as kinky as drinking somebody elses blood so it’s really got to be by bloodline. She is somehow related to Belle.
ohhhhh….. Hey Ace, I like Ness’s idea, Belle is Shane’s mother — that’s a good twist. Go send Dana to look for Alice.

Some ALice/Tonya fighting ? I love the new character of Cherry, she’s sexy. More Shane and Anita moments ! PLease ! I love the way there’s definitely heat and sexual frustration between them but also the fact that they seem to get slowly accustomed to each other, like when Shane discovers how good it feels to wake up next her without having had sex before.

I dont know if you heard of this one but its called The Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner Its a really good book it only took me only two days to read it. It had me hooked
Hey.what about that nut Lacey. Could she be Belle? Where did Shane get her powers. I believe fron a child she cultivated them. Just watching,listening and refining her love for woman. She was able to get into their heads and didnt know it. Where did Alice get off to. Hey I love this story.
