Alice: No…I won’t let them. Come on we’re leaving now.

Alice took Dana by the hand and started to drag her out the door. When she exited the room Tina, Bette and Shane were standing there.

Bette: Alice what are you doing?

Alice: I’m getting Dana out of here.

Tina: But you can’t. We talked to the nurse and she said that…

Alice: ***** the nurse.

Dana hadn’t said anything this entire time. She kept her eyes down at the ground and only did what she was told.

Alice: She’s not suicidal. She doesn’t have to stay. There is no reason for her to stay.

Shane sat back and watched all of this play out.

Shane: Dana can I talk to you while Tina and Bette talk with Alice?

Dana just nodded her head.

Shane put her arm around Dana’s shoulder and walked her back into her room.

Once they were out of sight Alice, Bette and Tina began to talk.

Bette: Alice you have to understand that what Dana is doing to herself is not healthy.

Alice: I know that it isn’t healthy but she can’t stay here. I need to be with her. She needs to be with me. I can’t live without her. I need to know that she is okay.

Tina walked up to Alice and hugged her.

Tina: Everything is going to be fine. She won’t have to stay here long. I swear. They need to put her on a 72 hour suicide watch and then if she makes it through then she can go home.

Alice: What do you mean makes it through?

Bette: Well they have to do tests. If she passes the tests then she can leave.

Alice: And if she doesn’t pass?


*In the hospital room*

Dana: I don;t know what I’m doing. Everything has gotten out of hand. Know one was ever suppose to find out. Alice wasn’t even suppose to know.

Shane: Don’t you think that one of us would have found out at one point?

Dana looked at Shane.

Dana: I didn’t really think that far in advance.

Shane: Dana, WHat do you want to do?

Dana thought about it carefully before answering shane.

Dana: I want to be with Alice.


*The hall way*

Bette: If she doesn’t pass the tests then she is going to be moved to a long term treatment center.

Alice: No…I can’t let that happen. I can’t leave her.

Dana and Shane came back into the hallway as Alice was sinking to the floor crying. Dana ran to her and took Alice in her arms.

Dana: What did you say?

Bette: The truth.

Dana: Shhh…It’ll be okay…I won’t let you down. Shhhh.
