    Chapter 34

“Where were you last night?” Alice asked Tina while they were having their usual weekend brunch.

“What is it with people wanting to know everything about me?” Tina said with a coy smile.

“So, where were you? I was going to ask you to dinner.”

“I was doing just that. I went out to dinner with Sam.” Tina explained.

“Sam, who’s Sam? Wait?! Is this why you look different? Are you dating someone? Tina?!?!?! What about Bette?!”

Shane and Helena stopped what they were doing and looked at Tina. Sure they noticed the difference in Tina this morning but that didn’t mean this piece of information would not shock them.

“What?” Tina incredulously asked looking back at the three faces staring at her.

“So, answer Alice’s question.” Helena demanded.

“Sam is Bette’s doctor and no I am not dating her.” Tina deadpanned.

“Then why the dinner?” Shane couldn’t help but to butt in.

    “Really Shane? Even you?”

“Sorry, I can’t help it.” Shane smiled.

“I went to the hospital yesterday because I haven’t been feeling well.” Tina explained before getting cut off by Helena.

“Oh yeah, that, how did that go?”

“Helena! Shut the fuck up and let her tell us the story!” Alice snapped.

Helena gave Alice a deathly stare.

“Guys, break it up! I was told that I have a mild anemia nothing that a good diet and a few meds can’t take care of.”

“That’s nice. Now make sure you take care of yourself.” Helena said.

“Ok, now that we have that settled onto the story.” Alice impatiently added.

“Anyway, I bumped into Sam when I was in the parking lot and we got talking. She asked me to accompany her to dinner and I accepted.”

“Tina, why would you do that? How would Bette react if she ever finds out?” Alice quipped.

“She lost that right when she left my best friend.” Helena snapped.

“I can tell you how she reacted.”

All eyes were back at Tina.

“She was at the restaurant that Sam and I went to. She was not happy at all. If I don’t know her any better, I’d say she was jealous.” Tina smiled triumphantly.

    Alice squealed. “You mean that?!”

“You saw her when there was this girl that was checking me out when we went to Milk, right?” Tina asked Alice.

    “Yes.” Alice confirmed.

“Well, that was how she looked last night only ten times angrier.”

“Oh my goodness, I am so happy for you!” Alice ran and hugged Tina.

“We’ll take baby steps. It may take a while but I am not giving up on Bette. She’ll find her way back to me.”

Bette came home last night pissed. She cannot understand why but she knew and felt like she can wring someone’s neck with her mere hands. She recalled the conversation she had with Tina at the restaurant and what she said about going to the hospital. She then started getting worried that something might have happened to Tina. Bette reached for her cell and sent Shane a message.

    Shane Mc Cutcheon

Shane, is everything alright with Tina? I heard she went to the hospital today. I’m just wondering how she is. Thanks!

She then proceeded to get ready for bed and went to sleep. She’ll check for Shane’s reply tomorrow. Right now, she needs to sleep. All the anger is making her head ache.

Jodi was not sure why but Bette was in a very foul mood when she came home last night. She asked how her meeting went and all Bette said was “It was a meeting from hell!” before she went and slammed their bedroom door. She never got out of the room and when Jodi came in, Bette was already asleep.

Jodi was tracing the outline of Bette’s face with her index finger. She then proceeded to do the same onto Bette’s neck until her index finger came across a silver chain. She looked at it closely and what she saw made her gasp. Staring back at her was an angel pendant. She knew this necklace. Bette never took it off when she and Tina were together. How did Bette get hold of it and most importantly, why is Bette wearing it?

    Comments

    1. Well, I see that things are about to come to a head so to speak. It is time for Jodi to realize that holding someone elses soul mate hostage, even done with a little bit of their consent, can not will them to your heart.

    2. Baby steps, keep taking those baby steps. jodi is slowly coming to the conclusion that her time with Bette is almost over. I look forward to more of this story. Go Tina.

    3. Great update. Yeah Tina. Bette is remembering bit by bit and the old green-eyed monster paid her a major visit. And her concern for Tina is showing by asking Shane what happened to her. jodi deserves whatever happens to her and I hope Bette leaves her very soon. She knew that Bette is having problems remembering her life and love with Tina, so glad she saw the necklace and is beginning to wonder. Thanks for posting.

    4. From the beginning it has been this way. Bette has been in positions where she needs to be convinced that Tina is the one she loves. From paranoia to head trauma. I give Tina major props for following her heart with a snow plow, to me this makes Bette undeserving of that love. Thanks for the update.
