Love makes me nervous! The thought of it makes me compulsive.
We’ve all had them. Tension flings. The night before a big medical convention speech – the perfect time to have sex with a stranger from some far off part of America.
Actually, Maria and I began as a tension fling. More precisely, after a kidnap situation that had unnerved me.
What else does this room need?
I wander down the hallway to the closet in search of candles.
I’m paying more attention to Lawrence’s program than I am to preparing my dinner on my stove. He’s doing a re-cap of all the media’s missteps that allowed Donald Trump’s constant haranguing about Clinton’s emails to turn many writers and TV journalists to act like stupid ducks and fall in step with his mania. That’s when I started really paying attention to his brain malfunctions. Why did no one else? The question of the hour. How did this happen? How the fuck did this happen?
Lawrence describes his next segment after the break will feature Maria Donovan and David Corne, so stayed tuned for more.
I freeze the screen when she appears. My God, she’s beautiful and naughty and then, it hits me: I have no idea where she’s from, and did her parents love her? Brothers? Sisters?
What college did she go to, has she ever been married, is she even gay?
That last one stops me.
More and more I wonder about the ridiculousness of labels. If last week she thought of herself as straight but leaning; last week I had my sexual juju humming at exactly zero. So, everything changes.
I turn the pot down under the rice and press the remote to listen to her commentary.
”Lawrence, we were just looking at those clips of Michael Moore’s rally coming out of New York tonight, and there’s dozens of them all over the country on the eve of Trump’s inauguration. We’re seeing something we haven’t seen since the 70s, and it’s heading straight toward this presidency.
”A presidency based on whatever flies in front of the man’s face. Policy in two seconds!” She snaps her fingers. ”And his old favorite, of course, the five billion dollar border wall that Congress will never let out of appropriations.”
Lawrence says, ”And Mexico knows that. The team of advisors he has around him are people no one’s ever heard of before. I mean, I’ve heard of one or two of them, but they would be at the bottom, I mean at the very bottom of anyone’s list of choices, and yet, here they are.”
”I have a suggestion, Lawrence. It’s part of my stress management. I watch MARVEL comic action flicks. They’re full of power hungry Luddites and crazy men.” She gives her hair a quick flip, ”And they step on their _______, a word I can’t say on cable news, and fail miserably.”
”So your advice for us tonight is – watch TV and hope for a super hero?”
She’s full screen again and there’s a dimple in her smile I hadn’t noticed before. And here’s another hair flip. ”Hey! What can I say? I believe she’s out there!”
I admit it. I’m smitten.

Very nice chapter, very hot too; I remember those days two months and a half ago, very stressed, if people had known five months ago what we know now (and what probably some of us always knew), probably history would have changed; so, let’s see how Dr. Bette Porter will show the truth behind the mental condition of this guy. Looking forward to the ‘Women’s March’ in your next chapter (I hope), and to see what you have prepared for us.

Dear Proteonomics,
As the real time news story of Christopher Steele’s dossier unfolds my awe and frustration is that first Jeb Bush’s campaign had the intel, and later they passed it onto Hillary Clinton, and, of course, we know the Obama White House got a copy, too. This happened in July! Meaning right after the conventions the FBI had the Steele report, as well!
In Countdown we’re likely not going to be chasing the Russian connections because Doctor Porter’s role is firmly in neuroscience. However, because they are so damaging and damning and of interest to me, I plan to weave them in, as the shocking revelations they are. As you noted, Dr Porter has another role to play by way of Trump’s mental disease. I hope you’ll stay tuned as she figures this mystery out.

Bibi, It seems both are nervously smitten, doesn’t it? In the beginning of this thriller, Maria is needed to show the investigative journalistic side of the unfolding mysteries that develop around the presidency. She is vital as this develops. I hope you’ll enjoy her even while enjoying Tina more!
Bette will meet Tina at the Women’s March, but only as an introduction and in passing. Until the story shifts, due to a series of plots developments, Bette will be off on forays with Maria figuring out how to get the story of Trump’s insanity into the forefront of news reporting. Then Tina’s role can be developed, but we’re not there, yet.
Tina is with an NGO that will fight Trump’s “anti-human life on earth” policies, to state them broadly! I’ve not decided which NGO yet, but I’m leaning toward an environmental/climate change NGO, because exploring that subject will take Bette out of Washington and into many places in America with Tina.
Please enjoy Maria, if possible. I am. Bette is and Nightingale will like her on their upcoming riding adventure.

Enjoyed the update. Glad that Bette will be able to let the CIA and FBI as well as the American people and the world know that the man is definitely unhinged. How people can still support him is beyond me. It is obvious that he is not ready or capable of doing this job. When his daughter was given an office in the West Wing, no pay and high security clearance that only means one thing to me and i.e., that she has the job of disemanating info in the security briefings that he does not understand. It has already been reported that he does not read anything. And his staff has told the various agencies to make their ibriefings ONLY ONE PAGE, with bullet points. Well DAMN, how does he expect to run the country with briefings of one page and not anything in depth. I shall leave this alone before I get us all in trouble. We are the laughing stock of the world and this country is in so much trouble. Thanks for posting.
Agreed! Whenever Ivanka enters a scene in this story I expect there be a witching-chill crusting the air.
In total, there are so many distressing things, it’s like deep pinball, if there is such a thing. One ever level your ball collides with obstacles too fantastic or grim to contemplate and then down a spiral hole you go to a deeper level that hits you emotionally. I’m writing this as a piece of storytelling to share with you all and to vent my own imagined meandering in down the rabbit hole.
So, let’s hope Dr Porter figures out a cool gizmo that will secretly take a scan of Trump’s brain while he’s unaware.
