Bette sat back in her sofa. She thought about her life and how it had gone.

She met her husband, Diego, when she was 15 and liked him. He was a tall, Latino man. He had jet-black hair and a dark skin. His amber color eyes were like the window to his soul. He was a little muscular but not too much. He had a little goatee at the time, which Bette found adorable. He was sweet, polite, handsome, a real gentleman, funny and she found out later that he was a great kisser. On some drunken night, they had landed in bed together and Bette had gotten pregnant. A real disaster. Her parents were angry as hell, half of her friends dropped her and her future was uncertain. After a while, her parents calmed down and decided to help their daughter raise her child. Diego said he would take his responsibility and stay with Bette during this hard time. Eight months later, Bette gave birth to a son they called Pax Dean Miller. Bette had a hard time combining a child with going to school but she did it, also because Diego helped her, she got her diploma and she found a job in a high school. She loved the contact with the kids and teaching. During that time, Bette got pregnant again. They were already living together in a small apartment where there was barely room for them and Pax, let alone that there would be one more. It was of course a big shock when Bette head she was pregnant with a twin. Diego did two jobs in order to have enough money to feed and clothe his family. Bette also kept working until she was practically in labor. A few days later, after she was forced to stop by Diego, their first daughter, Trix Dana Miller and their second daughter, Alex Donna Miller were born. Pax was already five and very happy with his new siblings. A few weeks later Diego decided that he would get castrated. He didn’t want any more kids and Bette said that would be best. They got married the year later, not very romantic but they did the necessary. Their parents were pushing them to get married, telling them it would be better for the kids and to be released from all the nagging, they did it.
