Can’t Let Her Go Chapter 10

Tina sat on the edge of Kasey’s bed. She glanced over at her niece who was sound asleep. Her gentle rhythmic breathing seem to

put Tina into a trance. Tina gently slid her fingers over the piece of plastic she held in her hand, flipped it open and looked at the display picture.

The display showed a picture of Kasey. It use to display Kasey and Bette, the two loves of her life, but that picture quickly dissapeared, along

with many other memories of Bette.

Tina felt the baby kick. She rubbed her hand over her belly, and smiled. She closed her cell phone shut and walked over to her bed. The hotel room

was quite large and extremly nice. Tina would definetly have to re-pay her sister in some sort of fashion. Tina layed down as comfortably as she could get,

and started her sleepless night, filled with thoughts and short dreams of Bette.

    3:30 A.M.

Bette awoke to find herself curled up into a ball on her livingroom floor. She was amongst a large cardboard box filled with memories. She rubbed her eyes sleepily

and squinted until her eyes adjusted to the light. She felt something in her hand and glanced down. It was a picture that was well worn, and seemed to be viewed many times.

Bette stood up and flicked on the hallway light. In her hand was Kasey’s first christmas. What a great christmas that was. Bette remembered the memory as if it were yesterday. Bette sighed, looked in the hallway mirror and saw her bloodshot swollen eyes, She had spent the entire night crying really. The whole moving forward with her life was not happening. She hadnt been able to store any thing away not because of what the pictures showed to her, but rather the people in them, she didnt want to forget or put them away.

Therefore her entire livingroom had pictures scattered all over it, almost like Bette had put in a new colorful plastic rug. Bette walked her tired body to the refrigerator, opened it up and peered in. Few boxes

of left over chinese, a bottle of water, and not much else but Bette smiled, a few bottles of beer were left. Bette quickly opened up a bottle and let the cool liquid run down her throat. It felt good and tasted
