chap 6 – summertime
Bette didn’t know what to say more. She stayed silent. She was trying to understand her puzzling state of mind. It’s at that moment that she felt Tina’s arm slightly touching her thigh. She shivered, holding her breath, scared to break the connection between their bodies, scared that the blond would realize the effect she had on her, scared to never feel the trouble she was feeling at that very second. Was it possible that this simple physical contact could have more effect on her then the much more intimate ones that she shared with her boyfriend? Her boyfriend, she had forgotten about him…She grimaced in displease.
"It’s not that fun to have a boyfriend.”
That must have sounded like a poor attempt of consolation but it was absolutely sincere.
”What?
-It’s not that exiting to have a boyfriend.”
Bette had a lump in her throat. Somehow, she was nervous.
”Why?”
She didn’t know why …
”Well, it’s complicated.
-Complicated?
-Yeah.
-What do you mean?”
Yes, what did she mean?
”I don’t know…It’s not easy. You have to be there for him. You have to want to be with him, to talk to him, to touch him, to love him.
-You don’t want that?”
She…
Actually, she was completely confused…
She had started her vacations sure of being in a very stable relationship and now everything was falling a part…
Plus, she was having these weird feelings toward this girl she just met…
Which was just scary…
Everything seemed so bewildering…
AND nothing was more annoying to Bette then this disorganized pile of confounding feelings …
She bit her tongue trying to gain control over herself.
-It’s not that I don’t want it. It’s just that sometimes I feel like I’m caged. It’s as if I can’t breath anymore. It’s as if I’m drowning under his demands, under his love, under the pressure of having to do things that I’m not compelled to do.
-You don’t love him
-I…I do…I do love him…”
It was such a sweet, caring guy…
”But you’re not in love with him."
It fell like a sentence on Bette’s shoulders. It was true she wasn’t in love with him. Her lower lip quivered. She knew she was about to cry. She pressed her hands on her temples and slid to the grown mournfully wishing she could erase everything that was going on…

“…unable to walk straight.” That about sums it up, LOL. PPS!!!
It’s a really nice story =) but I really like it since Tina’s point of view. And if you continue to tell the story from both sides it will become a little tiring =/ Hope you post soon from T’s side of the story ;D
Tina always has that special affect over Bette, trimble… walking straight…
Really like this story and we can NEVER have too many TiBette stories that show how they started a relationship. This is YOUR story and you should tell it as you see it or as the characters give it to you, because they will direct you, no matter what you are thinking. The characters tend to take on a life of their own if you listen to them. They will lead you. Let them. Whether you tell the story from either point of view, it doesn’t realy matter, what matters is what the characters want you to do. Keep writing we will keep reading. Now I will finish reading this chapter. Have a great weekend. PPS
Totally adorable. “Tina, Tina, Tina” had a West Side Story nostalgic moment there. Such a sweet beginning, PPS!
Like Dainty said, let the story speak to you and you can’t go wrong…you’re doing a great job so far!….Hmm, Bette “drunk” on Tina, sounds about right ;)
