The night at the Porter-Kennard’s house was restless and almost sleepless. A few hours after Bette and Tina went to their separate rooms and went to bed, the loud sound of something breaking woke them up. Angelica was their first thought. They appeared in her room a few seconds later and saw their daughter sitting on the bathroom floor with her head bent over the toilet. It seems that she was very ill. She was breathing heavily and throwing up.
Tina ran over to her daughter, squatted down next to her, and brushed her hair out of her face so that it wouldn’t get in the way.
Bette was cleaning up the broken glass from the mug that Angie had probably dropped when she ran to the bathroom.
”Bette, make her tea with mint and lime, I’ll stay with her here, okay?”
Bette quickly nodded went to the kitchen, and Tina stayed with Angie in the bathroom
”Honey, it’s good that the nausea started, so all the toxins will be released from the body and you will soon be much better.”
Tina was still holding Angie’s hair in one hand and stroking her back with the other
Angie said it in a hoarse, unintelligible voice. At the same time, she threw up again. Tina felt so sorry for her now. She could see that her baby was very unwell
”What did you say?”
”I’m hot, I’m on fire.
Tina leaned her lips against her daughter’s forehead to check if she had a fever
”You have a slight fever and it’s really hot in here.”
Bette had already brought the tea and stood in the doorway for a moment, her arms crossed over her chest. After Tina’s words about the temperature, she brought an infrared thermometer and gave it to Tina. It showed 100.2. Not as critical as it might have been, but definitely unpleasant for Angie’s body.
Bette straightened the bed, Angie, and Tina helped her to her feet. Angie washed her face, rinsed her mouth quickly, and then they helped her to the bed. Bette put a cold towel on her forehead, and Tina gave her a little mint tea. They waited until their daughter was asleep and her breathing slowed.
