Chapter 2
Bette was a passionate woman and incredible lover. She was openly affectionate and she enjoyed spontaneity in their sex life but for Bette these intimacies with her partner were private, not for public discussion. Tina was less inhibited and didn’t set many boundaries on public displays. In fact, to Bette’s pleasure Tina was a bit of an exhibitionist, especially when she drank. Bette found a slightly inebriated Tina very sexy, and couldn’t help herself if Tina wanted to make out on the dance floor or in darkened private rooms at clubs. Bette wasn’t a prude by any means but she was discomforted by what Tina would divulge about their sex life to their friends.
As Tina thought about her and Bette’s situation she wondered if that is what was occurring with them. Were they losing the sexual intimacy in their relationship? Tina was a bit hurt by Bette’s reaction just now. Bette expressed no desire to make love to her even if it was in the doctor’s office. There was a time in their early relationship that the sex was exciting, passionate and illicit. It would have been a thrill for them to steal a few minutes of intimacy. It wasn’t as if they didn’t have sex, but the pressure of trying to have a baby and doing the inseminations had changed things between them or at least it had for Tina. She never talked to Bette about it so she really didn’t know how Bette felt. Alice was right. They really did need to talk. They needed to reconnect and focus more on their relationship. So far their only focus was on Bette’s work and Tina trying to have a baby.
Tina closed her eyes and sighed as she waited patiently for Bette and Dr. Wilson to come back.

Meanwhile …
Dr. Wilson took Bette to the room where she had the sperm specimen under a microscope and displayed on a monitor.
“You might want to take a look at this.” she says pointing to the monitor. The concern was obvious in Dr. Wilson’s tone and facial expression. Bette immediately gets a bad feeling and moves closer to the screen. She looked intently at the screen for a few minutes. She wasn’t sure exactly what she was looking for but something wasn’t right.

Thank you so much for this quick update; this is a very nice chapter, the story gives a unique background of my favorite couple, with Bette and Tina, having a successful career and an old failed relationship between Bette and Jody, and full support of Peggy; although the difficulties of pregnancy looks like your version of the beginning of the first season, however, I see here that Tina is aware of all the emotional and financial strain on Bette, but some communication problems can also be seen among them, especially when both of them use Alice as an intermediary in some issues. I’ll be waiting for a new update, maybe is too much to ask for tomorrow, but hopefully it would be soon. Thanks again
Heart breaking. Thanks for the post.
Hey Bat, so excited to see you posting this story again. Just love how you take some original dialogue out of the show and use it in your stories as well as fill in some gaps the show left. Don’t think it’s wise of Tina to always confide in Alice and for Bette to use Alice as a source to find out what Tina is dealing with. Tina can’t be sure that Alice is not going to tell anybody what she was told by Tina and Bette cannot count on Alice not mixing in some of her own interpretations of what Tina told her. Looking very much forward to your next post.
I like your version of Season 1. It seems as though Tina is already aware of their communication issues. Can’t wait for more.
Communication was always their problem. I understand Tina needs to vent, but she must talk to Bette and not to Alice, especially something so important about her abortion in the past.
Thanks for the update!
