Chapter 21 – Thanksgiving Holidays Begin

Angie: Oh, it sounds like fun. Will Jordan and Shay be here?
Tina: Yes, they will. But they may bring dates.
Angie: Well, that’s okay. As long as they come. I would really like to see them.
Bette: Okay, on with the schedule. For Friday, we are all going as a family to Universal Studios for the day. I have received a schedule revision and I have VIP passes and a private studio tour scheduled and we will eat dinner in the park and view some of the night festivities. Full day and no Black Friday shopping.
Angie: Oh, my god. I’ve never been to Universal Studios. This should be fun.
Bette: Saturday will be the day of Paris and Jeanette’s wedding. Need to be open and flexible for that. Plan on being dressed and ready no later than 3:30. I believe they are going to have the ceremony about 5:30 and dinner at 6:30 or 7:00. And we will be home when we get here. Oh, and Angie, why don’t you and Suzanne visit our master closet and see if you two can find something to wear for the wedding, tomorrow morning. If we need to do some shopping; we will have Monday and Tuesday to get that done.
Angie: Good idea. I don’t want Saturday to get here and not have something to wear.
Tina: That goes for everyone. Make sure your clothes for the wedding are ready by tomorrow. If they need to go to the dry cleaners for freshening up or alterations made, we need time to make that happen.
Mary: What is the dress code for Thanksgiving?
Bette: I would say country club casual. Daniel. I would suggest some nice dress slacks, a dress shirt and a jacket – tie is optional.
Daniel: Yeah, that is what I had in mind. And I will wear my suit for the wedding.
Tina: That sounds that nice. Make sure it still fits. If we need to get you another one, we don’t have much time.
Daniel: I think it does, but I’ll try it on to make sure.
Bette: That brings us to Sunday. That will be moving day. Your plane is scheduled to take off at 2:00 pm. I thought I would get you two back to New Haven and in your dorm by 12:00 a.m. eastern time. That’s 6 hours of travel and 3 hours of time change. I will make sure you have a meal on the plane but you may need a snack before you go to bed. I’ll have Jim get you a pizza or something for a snack in New Haven.

Maybe Bette & Tina could think of a way to assist Suzanne in her education. Maybe loans to cover whatever isn’t covered by the scholarships Suzanne can get. Loans due (or forgiven) after getting her degree(s) and finally earning a full-time professional salary.
It might be helpful to run any ideas past Angie before talking with Suzanne. To make sure it won’t damage their relationship with Angie. Or, damage Angie’s friendship with Suzanne.
Just a thought!
I’m really loving this ongoing story line about life. Or, at least the life of my favorite couple who happen to have a lot, a lot of $$$$$. Thanks

Stay tuned. You are somewhat clairvoyant. Bette and Tina will have a conversation about this very thing. How can we (Bette and Tina) help Suzanne out without interfering with her life. You see, money is a powerful influencer of people and the last thing they want to do is influence Suzanne’s life. Their objective is to help her without her feeling some kind of debt of gratitude for this help. Its a fine line to walk. They have learned a lot of lessons from Helena… do people like me for who I am or for what I can do for them or have done for them or could do for them? You see, friends who are bound by favors are not friends at all… or if they are, they are only temporary friends.

I have been so fascinated with this fic that I have not commented on it. I just love this family, and how they interact. I must say I was a little shocked when Margaret and Mary came out as a couple. I knew something was going on with them, but never guessed that it was that. I really am enjoying it all please continue.
It is not my plan to ever go into the details of the relationship with Margaret and Mary… I can say that there are all kinds of relationships. The fact is, that they want to be with each other as much as they can and want to share living space and a bed. They are affectionate with each other but that may as far as it goes. They are not going to disclose the intimate details of their relationships if there are any to disclose. The fact is that they are enjoying being companions. I just wanted to demonstrate that Bette worry about the two getting along was just totally uncalled for. And I wanted another opportunity for Bette and Tina to talk to Angie about relationships. And I also wanted to talk a little about labels…
