    Bette felt an overwhelming sense of calm as she kissed the only woman she had ever allowed to monopolize her thoughts at home, at work, in the shower, and wherever else she may have been for the better part of a week. She didn’t want it to end. But like all good things, it was nearing that point.

    Reluctantly sealing the moment with one final soft peck, she pulled her head back to gaze at Tina. The gorgeous blonde still had her head tilted, eyes closed, and lips slightly parted. It made Bette smile.

    “You’re a really good kisser, you know that?” she asked as Tina’s eyes fluttered open.

    Tina swallowed as she drowned in the big brown pools that were staring deep into her eyes.

    “Thank you,” she said absent-mindedly. If possible, Bette’s smile got bigger.

    Angus was bringing the song to a close with the rocking guitar solo competing with Shane for the last note. The crowd loved every minute of the sexually-charged tune and only encouraged the two musicians with more whistles and catcalls.

    Tina and Bette continued to dance together at a slow pace, holding one another’s gaze. Bette was the first one to break it when she looked over Tina’s shoulder to the table where her friends were still gawking at them.

    “Shall I should go introduce myself to your friends? They appear to be a little confused.” Bette returned her eyes to Tina’s, who was watching Bette’s lips move as she spoke.

    Finally, the song came to an end and the thunderous applause and cheers jolted Tina from her Bette-induced hypnosis. Bette released her hold from Tina and began clapping along with the rest of the crowd. Tina watched with a smile as Bette brought a thumb and forefinger to her mouth and let out a loud whistle.

    “Thank you so much ya’ll!” Kit had taken the mic again. “Before I introduce the rest of the Stouts, I wanna invite a special diva up to the stage to help us out with our next jam. We go way back, and me and the band are so happy she took the time out of her busy schedule to come chill with us tonight after lettin’ us use her studio to put out our new CD…which, by the way folks, are sellin’ at the bar for only ten dollas so get yo’self one before you leave tonight! Anyway, give it on up for Nona Hendryx! Come on up here and give me a hug girrrrl!”
