Chapter 3
“I’m sorry baby sis. That sure doesn’t sound like Tina. What could be more important to her than spending time together, especially if you’re trying to work out your problems?”
“I don’t know Kit. She doesn’t talk to me anymore without it turning into an argument.”
“So what are you going to do?”
“I don’t know what to do. Maybe you can help me sort some things out. I thought maybe you and I could have dinner. Do you have plans?”
“I was just going to grab something for me and Angus on the way home. Do you want to join us? “
“Would you mind calling Angus to see if he can fend for himself tonight? I need to talk to you alone.”
“Sure sweetie. Just give me a minute.”
Kit called Angus and told him that she would be going out to dinner with Bette. He was fine with just ordering a pizza and watching the ball game. Kit loved that Angus was so easygoing. He never put pressure on her. He was much younger than she but they had music in common and they cared very much for each other. Kit ended the call with several I love you’s and kiss kiss.
Bette watched how her sister’s face still lit up when she talked to or about Angus. She envied her sister having such a loving caring connection with her lover. She and Tina used to be that way but not so much anymore; especially not in the past year since they decided to start a family. It was ironic that the thing that was to bring them closer had caused such a break-up in their relationship. What should have been a joyous time was now associated with disappointment, hurt and pain.
“OK. What do you feel like eating sis?” Kit asked once she hung up the phone.
“Why don’t we head to Santa Monica Pier. Maybe get some seafood?” Bette suggested. Going to the beach was more about the calming atmosphere than the food.
“Sounds good, just let me get my things. If you don’t mind taking me home after I’ll leave my car here. Angus can bring me back in the morning.”

I love your story very much, though sad, it has lighted the debate in my mind about the insecurities and communication in the relationship of our couple; communication is a big part of their failure, Tina has closed herself in her own shell, maybe she is feeling guilty because her pregnancy efforts are not giving results, maybe she feels her partner is not giving her emotional support, maybe she feels Bette is not longer interested in her but just in the baby
And Bette is, just observing, apparently she doesn’t think she has anything to do with the catastrophic situation for which they are going through; she, apparently, already gave up on Tina, thinking the worst of her wife.
Each of them see, for her for own side of the story, they have lost perspective on their relationship and they don’t want to be in the other one shoes, we could say there is none so blind as the one who doesn’t want to see.
I’m thrilled, I want to read what will happen, how they are going to find their way back to each other, Thank you for this update and pps.
Hey Bat, I know I read this story before but I can’t really remember the storyline, there are some bits and pieces I remember but I am not sure if I am mixing it with another story. But it’s all the better so I can enjoy you reposting this story. It’s really hard to stay neutral and to give Tina credit if Bette’s telling Kit about their problems and Tina’s behavior is correct. Don’t worry about any accusation on my part about your portrait of any of Tina or Bette. Looking forward to your next post.
