Tina: “Hallo home.”

I hear the kids on the other side giggling.

Kids: “Hallo mommy.”

They’ve put the phone on speaker phone and I decide to do the same. Bette lie next to me and smile. She looks at me and I give her thumbs up, that we are on speaker phone as well.

Bette: “Hallo darlings, how are you. I hope you guys are good for your granny’s.”

Kids: “Yes we are always good. When are you coming home? We miss you mommies.”

Tina: “Well hopefully, we will be home before the end of the week. So if everything is going according to plan, we can go to the beach this weekend and have a pick nick. What do you think?”

Kids: “Yay that will be nice, can we make a little fire and have a marshmallow braai as well?”

Bette: “Yes of course, you must ask the granny’s to buy all the stuff that you guys need for the pick nick.”

Ella: “Momma B are you ok? Did that guy hurt you?”

Bette: “Ella baby, I’m fine ok. Don’t worry. Everything is sorted on this side. We just need to see the one man this afternoon, and then we will be on the first flight home. Momma T will organise our tickets for our flight back.”

Ella: “Ok cool, just remember mom we love you and momma T.”

Bette and Tina: “We love you guys too.”

They put the phone down and we lie still next to each other.

Tina: “Well babe it is almost noon, I think we need to get up, take a shower, have lunch, because I’m freaken starving and then we go and see the inspector. What do you think?”

Bette: “I like it, but I want a bath, so while I’m busy getting the bath full and ready, you can phone the airline and organise us a flight back.”

Tina: “Ok cool, but remember after our bath I will need to eat please babe.”

After our bath I take Bette for lunch, she is a bit nervous, but after a while she start to relax and enjoy the sunny Cape Town.

Tina: “Bette just a question. Don’t you think you need to go and talk to someone about what happened?”
